Since DOA4 is in it's final days of life and that the much anticipated, long awaited DOA5 is less than a week away from release, list what you would consider "accomplishments" during your DOA4 career. They can be whatever you want. Winning an offline/online tournament, winning a First to 10 with a rival, being victorious in Money Matches, achieving rank SS wIthout farming, writing the guidebook (hint hint), writing an extensive character guide, personally taking in a nobody and training them to be a force to be reckoned with, hosting a tournament, winning clan matches, being on the CGS, getting sponsored, whatever you want. If you mention someone in your resume that you bested, don't humiliate them and don't be offended if your defeat is mentioned in someone else's victory. It's simply stats and DOA4 history.
Pretty much your DOA4 resume so to speak.
Personally, I had blast playing this game even if a lot of the community despises this number of the DOA series. It wasn't just the game that was fun, it's the community as well. From getting dead last in offline tournaments to the online lobby shenanigans (I'm gonna miss those) to the old DOAC flame board.
Also, it would be pretty rad if the high level and sponsored players of the community could share their stories and resumes.
Here's my DOA4 resume
Gamertag: NykNyks
Past gamertags: NykkoMT, AfroNykko, ImNykkoWordUp (wth was I thinking when I made all these -_-)
Date off joining the DOA community: Early 2006 I believe on DOAC
Main Character - Lei fang
Former clan - Hard Knock Academy (HKA)
Accomplishments:
-Getting 3rd place at a West Coast tournament in 2008 that boasted the likes of Punishere, Accurate, Sweet Revenge, and Koompbala. Second time I ever won money playing videogames.
-Eliminated Punishere in that West Coast tournament (I'm hunting that Lei fang of yours when 5 drops, ya best believe it!)
-Made the effort to support a dying tournament scene by showing up to 3 offline tournaments
-Competed in many online tourneys. Don't think I won any for DOA4 but I did win one in DOAU lol
-Convincing my mom to pick up a total stranger I never met that wanted to compete but didn't have a ride to a tournament. (oh you know, coulda been an axe murderer but it was just a DOA player)
-Getting picked up by a then total stranger at the time (Koompbala) so I could have a ride to go compete in a tourney. (oh you know, coulda been a kidnapper looking for naive young teenage meat, but it was just a DOA player)
-Winning a First to 10 Mirror Money Match against Sweet Revenge. We used Lei. He doesn't use Lei but I consider it an accomplishment given that he has far more superior knowledge than I at the game and is an overall really difficult person to defeat no matter who he uses. This was also the first time I won money playing
-Stopped playing the game from 2009-mid 2012 only to return online and have my name and main remembered by more than a handful of people even when I had a new gamertag. Makes you feel like you've done something right in your quest for playing this game.
-Created a hilarious DOA4 YouTube video in scrambled porn definition quality that got over 100,000 views. It was the first video of its time that displayed all the character costumes. It's called DoA4 Costumes.
That's about all I can think of right now. I'll edit my post if I can remember anything else.
Final word: Looking forward to having incredible matches with everyone in DOA5. I hope to play all those that I have not played in years. R.I.P DOA4, Viva La DOA5! All you young cats, despite what you've read, it's a general rule of thumb to not trust online strangers as you could one minute be excited to head to DOA tourney then next minute end up bobbed & gagged tied to chair in a basement
