All of the top Mila players have dropped her. Her nerfs were unwarranted and I'm not going to thank Team Ninja for it by forcing myself to keep playing the character. They nerfed Helena, so I switched to Mila, now they nerf Mila for no reason. I'm done.
Look. I don't know you in person (although I personally know of and stay in the same area of a well known strategy guide writer that does) . However I do know this. Don't quit. You've invested a lot of time in this just to throw it away. You love this and I can tell easily simply because of your enthusiasm level at SCR & you're still involved in the scene i.e. IPL though the balance between promotion and participation is hard.
This is just the reality consequence of what I've been saying for a long time. That fighting games should be released on the Arcade platform first. That's why back in '97, DOA on the Saturn was solid. Why in 2000, DOA 2 was solid. Then it went to hell with DOA 3 since i.e. by lowering the Hold points to 3. You already know on DOA 4. If this had came out in the Arcade in JPN and with some sort of International release, then only the most dedicated would have found all the faults before the eventual consumer release. I've repeated asked Team NINJA directly via Twitter for an Arcade DOA 5++ (as a play to the Arcade version based off PSOne version) and ironically, their response was that it was to be released on the Vita. They could have simply just released on the System 369 board but then would have to go through Namco. Uh huuh.
THIS is what separates DOA from Tekken and Virtua Fighter (offline player base and 3D fundamentals i.e. sidestepping) and there'll always be some sort of problem unless Tecmo gets back in the Arcade game. People would say, what about Capcom? Well as reported by an IR report, it was broken down to 60% NA, 30% EU, 10% JPN. (
http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/interview/2011/vol04/03.html). Tekken is the most balanced on the competitively participation level 70/30 (Casual/Competitive) where as VF is quite the opposite (I'd say 30/70) with DOA after 5 at 90/10 (around the same as Soulcalibur). 3D polygon graphics are ubiquitous and not unique anymore.
In short, what's old is new again.
