Yeah I know, I was under the unfortunate impression that Steam had control over the settings a bit better as some other applications do, but they seem to rely more on Windows itself to determine unfortunately. Still, glad I'm on top of the matter now (unwanted broadcasting). Still unsure on how...
Well, I've disabled it, but have to do it manually unfortuantely every time now. Which also means zero voice chat from me forever as well, since I can't just turn it off and back on in time to say anything. Not an ideal situation really. Hmmm...
The funny thing is this: I turned the mic settings to zero, push to talk, etc, and today I found out that the mic on the Webcam was still picking up the sound when a player kindly notified me over voice chat.
Turns out the third party application that installed went and overrode these settings...
Interesting on the Tag, as I've not tried it yet. As for if the dropped player was me, you'll know it's me if the character chosen was Kasumi in her Floral dress and Black Leather jacking with her Ponytail on the side. (Or her Nurse outfit if previous one already chosen). Otherwise, that was...
Previous few days have been acceptable, even managed to get a 1 connection with someone today and got a relatively acceptable match, think it was a little biased in my favour though. But all evening, the client just crashes non stop. Wazaaaaa probably noticed me drop a match or two out of the...
Anything with a 2 connection is still pretty much playable. 1 is always lag on one players end at the very least if not both. Slightly surprised that KT/TN don't implement something that checks prior if anyone has a 1 connection and cancels the online match automatically.
Looks like my observation earlier was premature. Either any rank less than E in this beta doesn't lose points, or around the 1750 point mark begins the point loss. As I've never been online before on the consoles, I gather this is the norm?
There is one thing I noticed. In the options for online to show which toon you want to be represented by, the descirption does say "display as your main character in lobbies, etc". Whether this is just copy and paste from the Consoles and they didn't correct, or whether this will indeed get this...
Just hope the players I'm facing don't think I'm anti-social or anything by not using mic or anything.
Reminder to users beta testing the online, to increase your "Max difficulty" upwards to a higher level, as on default it's set very low, otherwise during certain parts of the day you may have a...
In theory, any i5 or onwards should be fine, just whatever you do, make sure you're not running anything else in the background that might take up CPU time.
For comparison, I had a 4930k paired up with a 7950 3GB and still was performing badly (25-45FPS) because there was a background program...
I suppose what I really meant to say was: a higher end GPU setup (including crazy SLI/Crossfire setups). The CPU appears to be the more important to getting better frames than simply having a high end GPU.
Oh. And using Xbox 360 Controller here. No issues when DOA5:LR was running normally...
From preliminary testing, it looks like ideally, you'd want a low to moderate (fair) GPU paired up with a Quad Core or higher CPU in order to get the most out of DOA5:LR at 1080 resolutions. Having an insane SLI/Crossfire solution with a poor or busy CPU doesn't look like it'll net you the best...
