  • I wish people would scream more in DOA commentary. It makes matches more hype. I guess...

My favorite doa commentator is hands down Shadeswifteye, he knows a lot about the game and has a funny personality

Between Tasty Steve & Spooky, I'd prefer Spooky because he at least has some enthusiasm for DOA. His knowledge of DOA is limited, but compensated by showing respect to the game and the players involved and gave off this vibe that newer DOA players can relate to (I.e. the "learning the game on the go" vibe).

As for a commentary team, I'd like to go with MASTER & Rojikku. Both knowledgeable & hype guys. But yes, Shadeswifteye is also very solid.
There'll probably come a time shooting and fighting game videos will be banned on Youtube. When that happens, I'll use my ultimate weapon.

The biggest problem I have with Tekken is more on the community than the game itself. The community has a rift that's happened since TK7.

The people who don't like Tekken 7 have no problem with the people who like it, but the people who like Tekken 7 (the fanboys) harass the people who don't like it.

Whenever someone asks me what Tekken games that I like and Tekken 7 isn't one of them, there's gonna be like 5-10 people harassing me for not liking Tekken 7. It's no wonder in 2017 the Tekken community made it to the top as the worst FGC of the year.

Tekken has been Tekken 3.x (minus T4) since forever.

I've always liked fighting games to stay the same TBH...because the core game play and the characters are the soul of the game. The reason why in Soul Calibur since SCV because they changed the mechanics and the characters that made me lose familiarity to the game. SCIV wasn't as good as SCII and III because of the button mashing mechanics added to the game, but it was still acceptable enough as a Soul Calibur game.
Shenmue 1 and 2 has been given a chance to rise again. Bloody Roar needs to get another chance as well.

You could say that this also is one of Konami's screwups 2nd to Metal Gear seeing as quite a lot of people were requesting the Bloody Roar series to make a return, however Konami owns the IP and their studio that made the series merged into something else entirely and members left to another company.

    DestructionBomb
Only way I can see the series make a return is if Konami goes back into fighting games and it's community, and then having a 3rd-party company make the game instead as freelancing. Good luck trying to convince a company where they are charging people for extra saves in newest MG installments though.

Sounds like it. Bloody Roar ceased to continue because the last one didn't sell well. It sold only less than half compared to the previous one.

Maybe if they would give the franchise to another company/development team who can recreate the game just like the way it was, but better, the series will have another chance, but that would take a miracle.
I'm a really calm person (I think), but some people are testing my patience... Summer is the season when I just keep feeling like sh!t.

As someone who lives in the eastern part of Asia, I really hate Summer. The heat gets me irritated by the most random things... Actually, it's hot for more than half a year, so that's why we like cold weather.

    I get that, I often go to China in the summer and I just die to 40 degree celcius weathers ;_;

Because he's older than I am, I'm not supposed to tell him anything about showing a decent behavior because he should've known that before I did unless he has a mental issue. What in God's creation are these kinds of human beings?

I wouldn't be if I could avoid them. It's frustrating that they'll always be around, whether it's a neighbor, a classmate, a co-worker or whatever it is. There will always be people we can't stay away from because they're always around.
Movement counter stuns really need to go. I hated how they added that in SCIV, and it's still there in SCVI. Punishing me for moving around.

DOA as well. But counter stuns out of almost every movement is obnoxious.

@ Shirataki yes SC2 is the only sc were you never get a counter hit when you hit someone during stepping except back step. Oh and I wished for YEARS that SC3 AE had come to consoles but no...
What's the difference between DOA4 and DOA5's okizeme? As much as I've played DOA4 extensively. I can't say I know everything about it.
    Force_of_Nature
    Force_of_Nature
DOA5's okizeme seems pretty similar to DOA4 with the forced tech game along with a fairly similar combat engine, though DOA5U neutered the ground game in comparison by quite a bit by adding too many invincibility frames for the victim (though forced techs still exist).
I know I've been noticing this since DOA4, but how come my character automatically sidesteps an incoming attack after a "missed" hold?
    Brute
    Brute
You may be referring to what happens when you perform a hold against certain "unholdable attacks." For example, doing a mid punch hold against Leifang's 3P+K will result in sidestepping the attack rather than holding it. I'm not sure why that specific method was chosen for those attacks, but I assume it's because the hold animations would look strange trying to "grab" those attacks' animations.
    Brute
    Brute
Makes enough sense for some (such as "butt attacks"), but others seem pretty arbitrary (never understood the justification on Gen Fu's H+K, for example).

Now to see if that'll work in a match. xD
Among the newer members in FSD, I'm probably the mouthiest one... xD And I'm actually silent IRL because I'm not sociable.

Used to get disliked a lot for being different. Differences they don't like to adjust to. Having a different mindset, philosophy, and behavior towards other things. I thought being different while keeping my morals up is what makes me human, not a robot slave to normative society.

Japanese DOA matches look fun to watch because they play it in a faster pace. Such quick thinkers.

I wouldn't really say that the "faster pace" makes the games more fun to watch (since IMO, Westerners can play DOA pretty "fast" too), it's just that every move performed at any given time serves a reasonable purpose. However the Japanese scene is heavily benefited from the offline arcade scene where most players focus on learning tech, counters and just leveling each other up.
    Shirataki Tsume
    Shirataki Tsume
That's kinda true, but that's just me TBH. Because when I see Japanese players play, they don't walk around and distance themselves as much as non-Japs because they seem to limit themselves in a certain distance where they can still reach each other while being able to make their opponent whiff, and quickly exchanging blows in a calculated manner. It's like watching a martial arts movie.
    illninofan

Sounds like the Japanese players have insane reactions and a fingertip feel for the game. Perhaps other players are more worried about getting hit, whereas the Japanese players don't worry about such things because they know what to do when on the defensive?
