I've fixed the date and time as you didn't have the date matching the event. I guessed at the time. If you have to edit the time, please do so.

I will be updating as regularly as I can with info on i46 in this thread (or sorwah if you wanna move it to a new thread thats fine as well):

We just set up everything today .. there should be a seeding tournament on friday and another on saturday ...
I will arrange to have it streamed (theres alot of tournaments running alongside so streaming might be tough but hopefully I will try and get something up for your guys). If I get it up and running Ill update everyone with the link on both FSD and twitter
However, the Main event will deffinately be streamed sunday at twitch.tv/Unequalledmedia

the idea of the seeding tournaments is to get a general idea of the overall skill level so that the players are sorted in fair brackets at the main tournament on sunday.

A few noticable things from the gamescom build:

- I fucking hate the feel of the shortened holds. the critical state is being reset far too often... I dont like it

Lei Fang:
- Leifangs faint stun from 3KP (the previous 3K4P) is no longer there and I am very annoyed. so 3K doesnt do sitdown and theres only one option from it now which is 3KP+K.. I think this is a stupid nerf. especially since it led to faint stun. 64P only faints on counter hit (if Im not mistaken it allowed faint on Normal and Counter hit in the e3 build).

Sarah:
- has 3 sitdown stus that are only achieved on counter hit (unfortunately):
6G+K
P+K
(flamingo) 4K
- her (flamingo) 4K does not have the jump property that it has in VF5FS. this makes sarah extremely vulnerable to attacks when transitioning into flamingo on block as she cannot crush lows and the (flamingo)P+K parry is too risky (and not as effective as in VF) Im unhappy with this.
- her 9K does not allow air juggle like it does in VF5FS on normal hit .. however it seems that the 3 height system is indeed implemented. after an initial stun the move allows a juggle and at threshold it allows an even better one.. so I guess this is fair. (in move details the hit effects go from white to yellow to red indicating 3 heights)
- There was a spelling mistake with her win pose "better run home to momma now' .. momma was spelled MONMMA... just thought id point this out as well.
- sarahs just frames are still just frames but they are holdable in between .. I found that annoying as theres not much of a point sometimes to go for the JF...
- without walls or dangerzones, the maximum damage I managed to dish out of her was around 97 I think .. ( in that range ) .. she seemed weak at first, but once I started implementing her sitdown stuns and found out how to maximize her air juggles her damage out put isnt that bad actually. also her hold damage is pretty good.
- her burst 236P+K is a new move (actually an old VF animation)
- Input changes:
forward slide 66P+K
step (from flamigo) 1P+K
moonsault 9P+K
switchstep 8P+K
the rest of her stuff is more or less identical. and of course she has holds and a low throw now

Akira:
He was absolutely fine in the E3 build. I dunno what they fucked up with him. it seems that all the moves are present in the move list. BUT the stun properties seem to be missing or fucked up. for example:
- P+K 43H+P (4P) .. the input is there .. but the 4P doesnt actually work. the reason is that in the E3 build you had "Throw combo" pop up after the 43H+P that allowed you to input the follow up, for some reason in the gamescom build its not there and the situation is just reset.
- the same exact thing is happening for all Teiro Kanpo setups for Akira. They were there in the E3 build just fine. the Move details are still there in the menu. but the "throw combo" flash is not there fucking up the stance altogether and not allowing it to comeout. As a Vf player i was extremely annoyed at this.
But because the moves are actually in the menu.. it might just be an issue with the gamescom build only and it will hopefully be fixed..

Rig:
Rig is NOT easy to use... but hes amazing .. Ill try and go more in depth with him if I get the chance ... he has too many transitions into flamingo and it seems that alot of his strings are high attacks

I was too busy setting up with the guys today. Hopefully I will have pics and footage when the actual event starts tomorrow :)

Atrer a long day of preparation yesterday! i46 is OFFICIALLY OPEN!

The venue itself is MASSIVE!! and there are a lot of things going on at the same time.

The setups are positioned at the front of the Unequalledmedia venue making it the 1st thing the players see!

I will do my best to fill you guys in with character related info as well as images and video footage in the following 3-4 days (Friday-Monday evening)

I will be doing mini Seeding tournaments (with sexy cubes for prizes) tonight and tomorrow night to assess the general level and properly seed out the brackets.

I had a little time to mess around with the gamescom build:
here are some of my early notes:

If by any chance Hele is available in the event. Mess around with her as much as you can, then come back here and post all moves you find, combos, stuns, launchers, juggles, CB. Everything.

If she's not there then do the same with Tina.

Also, sucks about the low crush FL 6kk being gone. Is FL pk still in and does it have different properties (i think it only sabaki'd anything low as long as it didn't knock down)?

Team Ninja, who are you guys listening to with these "taking steps back" methods because it sure as heck isn't us. *Itagaki must be apart of this act.....

We were fine and excited for the longer hold periods that were introduced, shortening them will only revive our previous issues with DOA4's hold system.

We need some in-depth Akira play because out of all the characters, I'm worried about the guy because his properties continue to change "for the worst" with seldom lab test sessions it seems. And Sarah should "NOT" be nerfed in any shape of form, just buff up those who need it like Dr Dogg said.

There's still hope because small tweaks can be made here n there with little effort, we'll have to just wait and see if they'll be able to in this short period of time. But until I play it, I can't fully judge what's on paper.

But....The Japanese players like Doa4's play style! 2/3rds is the majority, and should have more weight when discussing their views. But oh well. There is only so much we can do lol.

I don't know weather to take it as an insult or compliment but u forget I disliked 4 for this very reason... I just didnt agree with the suggestions of eliminating holds in stun entirely and eliminating string delay.
Increased recivery frames fixed everything and now its just fucked again.. im not hapy with it.

I will cover a few more characters today if the time allows me..

I'm in the SCV tourney, havent touched it in ages lol im just in it for fun. I forgot how to play..

Check the stream i will tweet when the seeding tourney is up

I will also be playi g some casuals on stream between tourneys when the chance is there... I'll let you all know
