Changes in DOA5U

Doing the maths, Bass could get some damage buff in a few areas, because most of his damage is still around the same amount as it used to be. HC TFBB is like 128 now, which is just a handful of damage increase compared to the +30 life increase.

I think the real reason the damage was changes was primarily because of PLs.

I giggle every time I see someone mid hold Alpha. It's hilarious. That crap does more than half health on floor stages.

If you don't hold she can freeload into CBs that net around the same amount of health.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Unfortunately it seems to be more of a 360 thing. The lobbies are filling up for the PS3 b/c of the F2P version. :/

I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe Microsoft will have a change of heart and add CF
MS is notoriously unhelpfull to developers when they want to put a F2P game on XBL, MS wants a piece of that pie bigtime. Same reason why Tekken Revolution isn't on XBL.

I don't know MS exact policies on F2P games but it's probably not that appealing to developers.
Hopefull MS will wake the fuck up because the XBO also isn't appealing to me.

I don't want to be a downer, but why did they Jeff the ground game? Did they say why? I don't want to believe it's because a lot of casual players (meaning players who will drop the game after playing a couple of weeks) complained about it. I prefer additions to subtractions. I think fighters are the only genre where we can lose things with patches and DLC :(

It almost seems like they have the mentality of wanting to inject Doa4 into Doa5, even after a lot of feedback. Like they see stuff they liked in Doa4 when people here have told them to look at Doa 3.1 instead. I just want to understand where their head is at, if at all possible.

I agree with Julie that mid-wake ups should be more punishable. Change it to that and I could give a fuck how horrible the ground game is now.

And the weights... Team Ninja fucked up big time on weights. This isn't a porn where it's cute to lie about your measurements.

Because people complained about Helena.
But of course, then they just gave the insane FT pressure to a different blonde chick with huge knockers while gimping the pressure of every single other character.

TL;DR: 'Cause TN has no idea what they're doing.

It's just fucking stupid to nerf a universal tool that managed to get some good pressure going and give it solely to one character.

Helena had a braindead vortex (33P4PP > 6P) and now Rachel has one too. If they adjusted the ground game solely because of one character, then why not just nerf the fucking Bokuho 6P hitbox?!?!?

Goddammit TN.

LOL!

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were aware of Rachel's ability to pressure so well with her forcetech setups.... though they did give her a blatant forcetech move, nearly absent from any other character. Why nerf the system in general and keep it for one? Individuality?
Doesn't work when everyone else can effortlessly get stomped out with the provided tool.
We need balance, not favoritism.

I for one agree. Rachel's force tech is absolute bullshit, I feel like everyone should have one similar if that's the way it's going to be. It kind of seems like an OH FT or just something so cheap you can't even put a name on it. Who the hell at Team Ninja thought it was a good idea to get up as soon as your nuts get turned to goop by six inch heels? I would not be getting up. I would be tweaking out on the floor.

The force tech animation is so long that you can sip on some tea and think up a strategy before they are even up. I think that the ground game should require more skill than that.

As would I...as would I. Anyway I agree with you all that TN needs to work on how they balance their characters but I think there is a very good chance the next patch is going to make some "adjustments" to Rachel. ;)

I don't know if this was mentioned before, but Any Strike (excluding Power launcher) that allows a ceiling stun can be tech rolled.

Holds and Throws that hit the ceiling still grant guaranteed follow ups.
