You should tweet TN about this. I want this to happen!
If customization is indeed a selling point for their next game, it's the least they can do.

Honestly, I am sad to say this but I hope DOA6 has less fanservice in it. I really get sick of seeing bashing and immaturity towards this game just because it has clad women with clad outfits every single time a article about DOA is made.

I don't even really see the problem anymore, honestly, who's the immature one? The one's who can't possibly see past boobs or the ones who can see and appreciate everything about the game?

I've been beyond done with people who can't take things seriously because of shit like this.

Like if you're getting horny off unrealistic breasts and mechanics of a game that are more hilarious rather than actually sensual or sexy, then you need to just seriously reevaluate your shit.

If someone dismisses a game just because of something irrelevant to the actual gameplay, then go home, you're not wanted anyway.

Well no one's forcing anyone to actually buy the fanservice costumes though.... and some people actually like them so??? It's not like it's game changing or anything?

I feel like people are just bitching to bitch because they got nothing else to bitch about. I mean, do these people bitch about the same thing when they're surround by women IRL?

"omgosh way too many boobs, plz nerf kthxbai"?

It's old, like yeah we get it, DOA has a lot of boobs, but so do a million other things.

Yeah I honestly don't see why clad female characters is such a bad thing. If you can play a game that you think it's fun and interesting over such minor details then that's a hug problem.

"Uh this game is so demeaning to women with its big breast and sexy costumes, there is no way I can play such a game like this. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna play Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur."

It just sucks that people know that a game has that sort of content and enter a article about it just to bitch about it, like wtf?

It's hard to see past something being constantly shoved in your face

No it isn't, they could just turn the characters physics off and make the characters wear less revealing costumes if it is that bad for them.

Looking at that comment section...it actually warms my soul for once to see so many people defend it even from the detractors.

Anyways, fuck them. Are they gonna buy the game? No, so why should we cater to them? If people are that self-conscious, yet ignore other games do so is just fucking ridiculous
"But DOA does it more" You know how many doujins I see of Street Fighter? How much hentai of Chun-Li I can find? 3d naked models of Soul Calibur characters? ANY fighting game that TOUCHES the PC gets nude mods out the ass?
Just because DOA caters to it does not take anything away from it at all and I still find it extremely pathetic people still use that lame ass excuse when Blazblue, Guilty Gear, certain characters on SF, Soul Calibur and the body models of Tekken ARE JUST AS BAD. It's just pure hypocrisy since it's only bad since DOA focuses on it...bite me.

It's hard to see past something being constantly shoved in your face

Turn off the breast physics(or set them to natural), turn off the water, dirt and grime settings and look for the 3-5 outfits the girls have that aren't too sexualized(THEY DO HAVE THEM). Done.

(Not pertaining to this post anymore)

I am a fan and I'm still a fan and I'll do my damnest to spread the goodness around and if I'll be criticized by it by immature babies...fine, I don't care. I won't hide, I'll still love the game and I would lose a piece of my soul if TN gets shut down and the series gets as lost as Darkstalkers.

Close yes!

Also quote so I know when you are responding lol.

Do not know if the contrast is enough though...almost looks like a solid blue, or is that what you were trying for?

The whole "mila with vibrant blue hair" was the point of my old contest submission lol. I would love that as her hair toggle!

I love DOA's mechanics and I love DOA's glamourous boob-esque packaging. As a gaymer it's just fun. Some feminists might cry reading this, but even thought the females are "objectified" a lot, I see them as strong women, modern warriors who can defend themselves while being sexy at the same time. I want to have control. I want a perfect body. I want a perfect soul. I want you to notice when I'm not around. ♪

When I did this "stereotypes" thread the other day, I was satisfy to see the wide range of personalities we have for the women. My favourite example is Helena (A curvy "lady of war" at the head of a multimillionaire dynasty, who can still be elegant and motherly in this mess). I'm a guy so she cannot really be a role model, but if I were a girl in a parallel universe, I'd like to be like her. Of course her character isn't so developped within the 4 games she's been in, but that's my interpretation. Little girls should try to be like her (or Elsa, lol).

Most men are just hypocritical. Not all of them, but most of them. If you take the example of porn, they will not show any respect for porn actresses as a profession, and they'll say these women are just disgusting, to stop feeling guilty when there is no reason to, but on the other hand, they'll just keep masturbating.
Sorry for being so crude but that's how I see it.

And stop reading these comments, it leads to nothing and debating will not change the gamers' mentality. They are the most conservative people I've seen in real life... I don't care what they say, I'm having fun!

I was sitting around going "Wow, no notifications from the Casual Thread in like... a day! So peaceful..."

Then I realized that I just glossed over the "new post" notification in this thread, and that you guys have actually been posting in here like crazy this whole time, as usual.

Sigh...

I think my problem with the recent sexualization issue is that it seems to have grown. DOA1 started with the bouncing breasts and the nude Kasumi in the intro, but that was about it. DOA2 and 3 were limited to promotional materials. However, the ads for DOA3, the "She kicks high" campaign saw a shift in the marketing, made even more explicit by DOAXBV's "tissues sold separately" ad and the many skimpy bikinis in the game.

DOA2U had its share of sexiness, but the only nude scenes weren't intended to be sexy (one was a rape scene, the other closer to a birth metaphor), and while it had swimsuits and a beach level, there were only a few swimsuits. DOA4 started to shift towards sexiness, though, with every girl except for Ayane and Helena having a sexy ending (yes, even La Mariposa's had some sex in it). DOAX2 was even worse, independently jiggling breasts, softcore porn minigames, a flippin' poledance... However, DOAD definitely turned it down, having little to no sexual content.

In comes DOA5, which starts off by saying it's gonna be a more serious game. Instead, because a bunch of people ruined it for everyone else, we get five costume packs solely consisting of swimsuits for the girls, several packs where girls are the only ones to receive costumes, said costumes being catered to fetishes like schoolgirls, nurses and maids, DLC characters who are only female, including a blatant attempt to appeal to the Lolicon crowd, a breast bouncing option that makes DOAX2's look tame, and possibly the worst costumes in the game, Momiji's mummy dental floss, and friggin TOWELS for the cast. You can't call yourself "a fighter" and only act like a model, hence my avatar.

I never played DOA for the sex. I skipped the volleyball games altogether. I got started on DOA3 because I was recommended it by someone who worked at Microsoft, and I enjoyed it a lot. It became my go-to fighter, if not my introduction to fighters altogether. I enjoyed the stages, the characters, the fighting system. Not the sex. I don't play the game to watch Leifang get groped on the bus, I play to break necks as Bayman and Leon. I don't play because of some model-rockstar-movie star-governer-whore girl, I play for Ryu FRIGGIN Hayabusa. I feel like DOA has lost sight over providing actual content other than just fanservice.

@KwonJigglypuff putting yours here as well.

*Ahem*
ATTENTION EVERYONE!

As you know, I would have loved for my contest submission to be in game, buy I'm switching tracks slightly. Rather than hoping for the full outfit, I'm hoping for just the blue hair, which was the point of the outfit in the first place!

So would anyone else like Mila to get blue as her tiggleable alternate hairstyle, such as the following?

People making fan doujins somewhere and what's officially introduced in the game by the company are completely different. And I think that you know that and are being disingenuous.

Games like Blazblue or Soulcalibur have not been immune from criticism either (Blazblue more so recently). There was a pretty big split when Julia from Tekken got "sexed up" into Jaycee and many people are sick of Asuka and Lili yuri-esque shenanigans. Dustloop is pretty split over the new character Elphelt's design. No one is ignoring it when other games do something dumb when it comes to sexual pandering. DOA is just getting it worse than those games. And I think that the "worse" is pretty proportional to how worse it actually is. They are going beyond a certain line of acceptable fanservice (just like other games sometimes do). People aren't just making stuff up. It's not like Street Fighter or Tekken decided to release gravure movies in game. They have done some fanservice-y things from time to time. But, everyone isn't going to just automatically be on the same level or in the same box because of it. Street Fighter is not automatically as bad as DOA because Juri exists.

You are living in a world of black and white. Come over to the world of color.

I will always smack anyone upside the head if they say that DOA has nothing to offer besides fanservice, though. That is clearly not the case. The problem is that I don't think that TN ever makes that clear.

This is pretty close to how I feel, especially the bolded parts.
