Will you buy all the dlc?

As you mentioned. Sectioning off or locking is done for casual players who want to feel a sense of accomplishment.

Off course, the solution to this is to do what Mike_Z did for Skullgirls - all characters available for Versus play, but having them (the sub-bosses) locked for Story Mode.

Indeed. What I'm hoping is that Mike_Z's game will only do more to bring attention to what a number of doujin or otherwise "Anime" games have already been doing for years, even as the major players (Capcom, Namco, etc.) haven't been paying attention to such. There's definitely ways of playing the "unlock" game in your fighting game without having to cause such a disconnect between the two different markets that stand to be interested in it.

What we're hoping for isn't for it to bring focus to "doujin" fighters, but rather for companies to take a look at and copy all the features that Mike has put in (that he has stated, he wants other companies to copy), the IPS, tutorial mode, press to set key config with macros, hold select to pause (already copied by SFxT), everyone unlocked for Versus mode, etc.
