But just copy pasting him from DOA4 feels lazy. If he's gonna be back he should get new moves, rework the frame data for his old ones so he can be good again like in 2U and work on the move properties. DOA5 has stuff that wasn't present in 4 like sidesteps, unholdable stuns and things like that. Giving Banko ground throws and air grabs would be top notch too.

I agree but he already got unholdables that's nothing new. Making that one useless ass punch I think it was 6P+K making that a CB won't be difficult. Making that useless 4P+K flying charge from 4 into a PB that would actually make it useful. Tengu stepping wouldn't be difficult either usually step moves are just moves taken from already existing moves. I can see his SS K being his spinning low kick and his SS P would probably be his P+K it would be awesome if it was his 2P. Balancing his frame data wouldn't be difficult either you would just need to change his stuff only by a couple frames nothing serious.

His frame data is easily one of the most important things that needs to be buffed. His jab should be i11, 8P should be a tad faster (maybe even just i14), and 8K needs to be at least i15 and launch on NH again. The vast majority of his remaining moves need to have the startup and recovery cut down by at least a few frames.

Another major issue is his inability to crush lows. He has no true way to crush a low. His best options are simply to low hold, or go for his 3T low OH. Both options leave him vulnerable to a Hi Counter Throw though.

He does have three moves that crush lows; 7K, 7P, and 9P. None of these moves instantly crush though and the latter two aren't even attacks, though they do both have follow ups. All of those moves should instantly crush lows and H+K should be made to instantly crush lows as well.

I like your sidestep ideas. I don't think both of his SS attacks should be lows though (you suggested 2H+K and 2P). I like your idea of SSP being P+K though. I think SSP being 1P would be nice too, but this would be one of his many moves that needs to be faster. i21 is ridiculous. I would also love it if he could SS into 9P.

Speaking of that. 9PT should be an OH.

He also needs a huge reduction to the height requirement of his air throw. Basically, if he launches, his air throw should be guaranteed (same goes for Leon). 8P+K should also be guaranteed after launches again, and possibly be brought back to 50 damage.

Another issue is that his 7PP and 7KP need to guard break. In DOAD (don't know DOA4 frame data, but I doubt it changed much, if at all) they respectably leave him at -50 to -53 and -52 to -53 on block depending on range, and don't cause a guard break. What the fuck? Cut out a shit ton of those recovery frames and slap a guard break on that shit.

He also needs a lot more mix up options. Primarily mids. He's really lacking on those. He needs some new fast mids and his existing mids need to be faster.

He also needs better stuns. If I remember correctly, he only has one sitdown stun, which is the second hit of 1PP. I could see them making 3K cause a sitdown stun and then possibly add new moves that do so as well.

His special version of 2K, where he stomps on an opponent who's on the ground needs to be faster too. It is absolutely useless as it is in DOAD. His opponent can get back up before the move lands and punish him.

Better be, and it better be called the Subway Stapler too with all the work im putting in here. In all seriousness i don't see why not, i mean jann lee basically has the attack now already. I think i'd prefer it to be a grab again over and OH like in 4 but honestly as long as its back I'd be happy.

That jab does not need to be no 11i I mean yeah he's a boss but thats really quick for a character of that size. As long as his P+K stays 12i it will be fine. If you buff his jabs to 11i then Bass needs the same buffs. Currently hell stab P+K is faster than his jabs just like Tengu's P+K. At most make his jab 13i like Bass. Maybe make 8P 15i it would be nice to have 8K 15i also so I agree with the 8K.

You know whats funny the SS K I actually meant for it to be his "standing spinning low kick" I can see them using that K as his SS K. I just forgot the input to it I know its not his 2F+K since that was his high crushing spinning low. SS P being 1P would make sense though. Most definitely buff the speed of 1P so it will be faster when being done out of SS.

7KP/ 7PP yes don't make 7PP punishable. I'm even fine with it being a negative guard break as long as he hops back while recovering so its not super safe but its also not punishable either.

Nah I would like 3K to stay a crumple. His 4K though now that should be faster and a sit down stun and also should keep the frames on block from 4. Speed up 3K make it so his 3KKK follow up stays but perhaps let him have a different follow up. So 3K2K works which the 2K would just go into his 2H+K string. Yes new moves are always good.

Yes faster if not faster since untechable moves exist in this game. Make it so it can be done as a weaker option to the dive bomb. Make that 30 and make the dive bomb 50.

The game really does need Tengu the more i think about it. Id give up on raidou for just tengu seeing how unique he is and how much flavour he would add to the game.

Honestly.. I cant think of the game being "ultimate" without him.
There are TWO open slots. TWO! That's plenty of reason not to give up on an actual villain like Raidou. The new characters have borrowed a few moves from past characters, one more wouldn't hurt.

Feel like this is a waste of energy - Team Ninja already know what players have been requesting over a year of DOA5 being out.

Campaigning now just for the sake of having every conceivable character in the game doesn't necessarily make it a better game. And if they are going to do it, they have ALREADY decided whether to do it or not.

Better to actually analyse game mechanics that could be improved and get behind making the game better, no?

Either Tengu is definitely out, or he'll be a secret revealed later. Either way, all this stuff won't change anything- the game is practically finished and only balancing to be done. How about effort be put into something reasonable we can influence.
