Honestly, I wouldn't want gore or blood of any kind in DOA. Some of the stun animations do a sufficient job conveying pain and violence in my opinion. The art direction of DOA doesn't really suit such graphic violence. That's what Ninja Gaiden is for :D

Please no gore

I don't want to see my favorite characters all bruised up and stuff. Thankfully I'm pretty sure TN would never think of doing this to DOA. I absolutely love splattering blood and limbs everywhere in Ninja Gaiden (fantastic stress relief,) but it doesn't have a place in DOA. :c I wouldn't want it in VF or Tekken either.

It just doesn't work for DOA (or even Tekken) b/c it's not meant to be portrayed as realistic. Only in these games will you be able to fight a girl who's dressed like she's about to go shopping with her girlfriends or model for a victoria's secret shoot while wearing 5 inch heels, and after kicking your ass will do a sexy winpose for the camera like nothing ever happened.

It's an interesting thought to visualize but I personally wouldn't like it myself. This franchise sadly has a hard enough time getting accepted as it is for it's over-the-top sex appeal, overloading it with gore or even subtle touches such as bruises & torn clothes would just add more ammunition to those that pose the argument. If people are finding the bikini overload difficult now, imagine that same bikini overload with extra blood & bruises? The haters would have an absolute field day. Leave the claret for games it was intended for imo.

Just the thought of Kokoro with a busted lip & lank mattered messy hair saying "you should really put some ice on that" or Hitomi & Lei Fang doing their cutesy power-up victory pose with bloodied noses & bruised eyes while happy circus music from 'The Show' stage plays in the background just wouldn't fit imo.

Bad wording is bad but I knew what you meant by "gore"

honestly it's just something that doesn't fit with all the cast if we were just talking like Bayman,Leon ,Ryu etc...
I would say go ahead but for the girls you can't really to beautiful and bloody/broken at the same time

I disagree.
Like a broken nose/arm and gash oozing blood or is there a threshold for you?

I'd feel sick to my stomach I think if I saw a bruise even on the guys. Bayman's wound makes me sad because you can see blood showing through when his casual outfit gets wet. I wish they had just made that outfit kinda sexy wet like they did Jann Lee's button up shirt and to an extent Brad's tank top. Then they had to make the long cut all open and sort of stapled in his fighter pack outfit.

I have a threshold that lies somewhere around sadistic torture. Those examples don't cross it, however.

I find endurance and perseverance beautiful. When people who are physically or mentally labored continue to push on, I find it inspiring. Doing your win pose in DOA with a cut above your eye would be like: "I went through hell to earn this win, and I deserve it."

I think the Tomb Raider reboot would be absolutely perfect for you considering the direction they decided to go.

I'm the opposite. I'm a fan of the flawless victory. So good no one can hurt you, tearing down everything in your path. I can't stand watching people I like suffer serious physical pain and torture. People I don't like though, screw 'em that's fun. :)

Well in a way, this is currently implemented already with the whole dirt/sweat effects. They don't need to over do it with MK9 style damage (Bloody faces), but look at Injustice where at most they got a few cuts in the leg or a hole in a cape which I think is good enough to give the game a more realistic feel. Kind of annoying to see Eliot come out unscathed when being Izuna Dropped off Lost World ledge..
