He got shot by someone he trusted with his back turned.

Kratos is capable lifting Chronos hand yet he still struggles with much weaker enemies.its a common occurrence in games.besides Ryu barley had any strength feats in the first place so I don't see what your complaining about

Not what I mean, don't bring gameplay mechanics into a VS debate.

... um...

Yea, they don't use gameplay mechanics in a death battle anyway

Like the ninpo gauge is a gameplay mechanic but they are going to assume that ryu has a lot more ki to cast more than 5 ninpo casts

Since Genshin is a lesser ninja than ryu and he can cast multiple voids they probably going to assume ryu can throw out a lot more

Yeah but cutscene-wise Ryu just doesn't reach anything close to his full potential. He's always more sluggish and cutscenes drop out just before every fight, where he gets to use his speed, technique, etc.

It's like analyzing the strengths of a gun without paying attention to any time the gun is fired.

Ryu can lift 1ton and block bullets with the dabby which weighs 100lbs and your saying he has no strength feats

in the preview they also forgot to mention he can use his magic to levitate on objects, like the rock in NG1 and also they forgot to mention the armlets he had in NG1 which increases his attack, kick, defence and UT (less charge time) powers and essence increasing armlets

I said he doesn't have many that are easily usable.yes he can use the Dabilharo but he isn't quick with it.look at how the Vigoorian berserkers use theirs and you can tell he can't use it to its full potential because he still has issue with the weight.

They have a lot of things to mention Ryu has an inventory of weapons and magic that belongs in an RPG. maybe they will include it in the full thing.

If ryu can dodge bullets with the dabby how is he not quick with it? Makes no sense

its not that hard to block bullets with that giant sword, just keep in front of you and use it like a shield.

if Ryu was truly that quick with it then he would be able to match the speed of the berserkers

Ryus strength improved since NGB though, in sigma 2 he swings the enmas fang and scythe around with no trouble at all.

Have you played NG? There is always more than one person shooting at you

Plus that giant sword doesnt even cover whole body

let me see ive beaten NG,NGB,NGS,NG:DS,NG2,NGS2,NG3, and NG3:RE yes ive played NG before, the Dabilharo also happens to be one of my favorite weapons and as much as i would love for Ryu to be able use it perfectly he doesn't.nothing i have seen has convinced me he is strong enough to use the Dabilharo with enough speed to block bullets logically speaking as far as im concerned thats just gameplay mechanics.also they don't shoot at your arms or legs just your center of mass which the Dabilahro does cover up.

Why are you just using ng1 to determine ryus strength

you would know that in NG2 ryu used the scythe fast, in NG3 very slow and in NGRE fast again

So i guess we cant really base ryus strength on how fast he uses a weapon unless we dont count ng3 and juat use razors edge as the "3rd" game

because the Dabilhro was the only thing that gave a clear a precise measurement to his strength,100lbs plain and simple.the reason im hesitant to use the likes of Scythe and Enmas Fang in comparison is because they could be lighter and probably are considering the EF's length which seems quite a bit shorter

So your saying that after all these years ryus strength remain the same? lol...

btw i just played NG vanilla just now and ryu uses the dabby quite fast for it being 100lbs

no im saying i cant clarify it.the Dabilharo was a massive weapon probably the heaviest hes used.i would need to see him use either that, the Unlabored Flawlessness,or the War Hammer(since they seem to be of similar weights) to gauge how much power he gained.

The UF is slower than the Dabby

it was light enough to do an Izuna Drop with though

oh dear.im looking at some of the prediction talk for the battle on Screwattack and im losing my mind in frustration.there's discussion of Ryu losing because he is unable to teleport behind people...what?!

we got a guy on there claiming he cant teleport behind because he doesn't do so in DOA,and there is another one who at least knows of the Cidida surge.Ryu teleports all over the battle when he does an ultimate and he now does it mid combo.please tell me the guys making the decision are smarter than this -_-

I have faith in screw attack that they won't mess it up

since in the preview they should clips of razors edge and so they most likely know about cicada surge
