Typically, if you'e not satisfied with your win ratio or the progress you're making, then judging by the standard one sets for his/her self, they will want to have their stats reset.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I wouldn't do the same thing. But after going through the same thing on DOA4 and just not resetting my stats, I learned to roll with it, with the help of certain encouraging individuals at the time.
I have a 13% win ratio and I'm not even sweating it.
Same as Brute, when I first started playing 5 my main was gone, my 2nd was revamped and nerfed to bottom tier and my new main was a character I had to relearn from scratch. I was winning barely over half my matches and losing the other half. Which resulted in the 54% Win ratio I originally had for a long time during my first few months playing DOA5.
I'm on a completely different level than I was before and I'd like it to show through my win ratio. I've played too many matches now in order for my wins to make a difference, I'm stuck in the 60s now. 5U is a perfect chance for a fresh start and I'd like that.
Bolded: I don't know why you post stuff like that. You were an SS in 4, you're a great Christie player and everyone knows that. It's a boldfaced lie and I've see your real W/L ratio on 360. Encouraging people and keeping sight of what's important is great but be honest about it. Pessimism is one thing, arbitrary pessimism though?... just no.

Zeo: Consider this when you think about your win ratio. Offbeat Nnja himself didn't have the shiniest online record. It was "mediocre", judging by what you said about your own. But look what this guy did on the actual competitive field in his heyday.
Funny you used Offbeat as I myself am an Ein main, his accomplishments are definitely something to be remembered and of course his online record is irrelevant in comparison but take note of the fact that I never just regularly complained about my win ratio.
I saw Ultimate being a re-release as a potential fresh start to create a record more accurately representing my new-found ability and that's when I started speaking up. Considering SF4 > SSF4 > AE and MVC3 > UMVC3 were all games that reset record as the balance changes and additional stages/characters constituted practically a new game and it made sense.
Vanilla wins counting as point towards titles is one thing but if 5U is practically a brand new game, why should 1000+ matches be shown and count towards my Ultimate record when I haven't actually played 1000+ Ultimate matches? A reset may benefit me personally, but it doesn't make it any less valid of an action to be taken.
@ the people who want their stats reset, please don't wish for that. I did, and I got slapped in the face with irony called corrupted data. I lost everything. All of my save data. Fml.
See that's different. You lose save data and you lose everything, unlocked characters/costumes, titles, the whole nine yards. I merely want a fresh win/loss record in Ultimate. I don't even want to get rid of my Vanilla ratio, I just don't want it to count as my Ultimate record when it actually isn't. It should be a separate viewable record for those that owned the previous game.
I'd actually like grade to be reset too. 5U should be a fresh start for everyone. The best will still be the best but it also gives those who improved a chance to really show it. Bring on the F-a-palooza.
Sorry for your loss also. Blegh, me and my long posts.
