You guys may or may not know who I am, but who cares?
Anyway, The Fall Classic came and went this past weekend and I thought it would be appropriate to tell you guys my story from my experience.
For starters, yes: TFC is the very first major tournament I've entered. I took a 1 Hour flight to get from Baltimore to Raleigh. When I got to the shuttle, I was joined by other players XCaliburBladezX and Hoodless. As soon as I got to the hotel, the first thing I did was sleep in my room for like 3 hours because I was super tired. In and out, I met other DOA players such as Allan Paris, SweetRevenge, Perfect Legend, and many others.
Then came the 3v3 DOA5 Ultimate tournament. Even though I didn't enter, it was great to see the DOA community supporting their games. Not to mention, it was great meeting Tom Lee for the first time.
Day 2:
Day 2 was go time for me. I got some casuals in until the singles tournament began. As I observed the matches, I had to let out all my nervous tensions until I got to my first match. My first match was against a Momiji player. I lost 1-2 and got sent to losers bracket. Then, I faced a Rachel player and won 2-1, eliminating him from the tournament. And finally, I faced a Momiji/Hayate player and I lost 1-2, which got me eliminated from the tournament and tied for 49th place. Oh well, it was my first time and I believe nerves did get to me because I was at about to face elimination.
The DOA5 Ultimate Launch Party was hype as hell. Chillin', talking, eating, drinking, it was live. But the hype factor kicked in with the Old School vs. New School DOA5 Ultimate Exhibition. Old School lost to New School and I gotta admit it was something else.
Day 3:
Finals day for all games. DOA5 Ultimate came on 5PM. Before then, I went to grab a bite to eat at Bahamas Breeze with Katsu Hayami, CyberEvil, and Desjah Rei, a player who sent me to losers bracket. As we got back, we prepared ourselves to watch the DOA5 Ultimate Finals. It was major hype as hell, and it was a chance to show the FGC what the DOA community is all about. Lopedo won the tournament, and we all chilled out. I know most of you guys went to the bar, but I had to pack up my stuff (and watch WWE Night of Champions) because I had class the next day.
In the end, I would like to thank Tom Lee for making this event happen, Sorwah for encouraging me to go to TFC, and shouts out to Chosen1 and Gamester Gear, CyberEvil, Rabies, Julius Rage, Return of the Shadow, Gill Hustle, Lopedo, Bboy, Gruff, SweetRevenge, Perfect Legend, Hoodless, Shuns Fury, and many others out there. If I didn't name you guys, y'all know who you are.
See you guys at the next event!
