Is the majority of the DOA FGC REALLY that interested in seeing Tengu back as a hyped character?

1) If the majority doesn't want him, they majority is wrong.
2) He actually seems to be the preferred choice in the community, to my surprise.

Why?

Out of principle. They usually keep all the bs nonsense they had as a.boss with only damage being nerfed. Like tengu and alpha can still fly around the map with insane reach and grabs and near broken nonsensical moves, etc.

Or like algol having guns and teleports and flight, same with cervantes, or sagat having insane reach, and highlow fireballs and shoryuken, etc.

It's all the tools that I hated the bosses for, in the hands of players. Oh joy. And especially in tengus case, he doesn't fit in with tone of the game at all.

Tengu is a FAR cry from Alpha. I still don't say she's broken, but she's certainly good, and Tengu, while not technically "unplayable" was pushing it. Small movelist, gimmicky mix-ups. Slow moves, which are easily reacted to. He certainly has decent throws, though. Aside from that, Tengu was only a difficult boss because of the AI, not because of what he had.

Tengu has the LEAST amount of tools from the entire cast. He has one decent low mix-up game and...well that's practically it.

Don't worry. If Tengu is added, even when used by the players who know him, you may hardly ever notice that he was once a boss.

The only "new" character in DOA5 was Mila. Rig is your standard kicker (literally nothing about him is new, every little details gives off a "i swear I've seen him before" vibe), rachels just a rehash of nicole, and momiji is just another ninja.

Mila is the only truly new character in this game. Tomboyish latina MMA fangirl? That's a new one, not just to DOA, but fighting games as a whole.

So recap,
Rig is generic.down to the cellular level.
Rachel and momiji are from ninja Gaiden. And their fighting styles are rehashes of existing characters.
Mila, brand spanking new. Closest to not new is shes a punching redhead like Vanessa, and she has a mount tackle like Leon.

Also I hope its not tengu. Im against playable boss.characters

Who's miyako?

Kokoro's mother and chief of operations in DOATEC's Japanese division. She is seen briefly with Lisa in Helena's story chapter. It's been a consistent theory that every major suit working with DOATEC thus far knows something about martial arts. Helena is the CEO of DOATEC, Lisa is the head scientist behind Epsilon and Alpha, and now there's Miyako.

In DOA2U, Tengu was indeed broken, but it had nothing to do with any of his "flying around the map" stuff. He was broken mostly because of 8K. A 12 frame, safe, NH launcher.

Then in DOA4 and DOAD, he had nothing. Easily the worst character in both of those games, and certainly far from broken.

And especially in tengus case, he doesn't fit in with tone of the game at all.

Who cares? He's fucking awesome, and people who played him want him back. That's good enough of a reason to bring him back.
