this is already false, Rachel bodies all!!! @_@
Why because of a force tech, lol. You have options to counter her 1. Parry her as she is predictable 2. side step her as her tracking sucks 3. quick duck to avoid the throw, then you get parry/whiff punish damage. So it's still a 50/50 guess you guess right you get damage and the chance to pressure a slow character or she gets damage. Characters in other fighters have worse stuff than her and they got around it, why can't you instead of saying she beats everyone (which is false).

it was a joke, pretty much anyone with a 9 frame jab is too much for her

the only thing rachel really has on her side is her ease of use and damage really, her rushdown to an extent, spacing, and overall ability to get people off of her, they all kinda chopped. not to say that these things arent possible but she doesnt shine at any of them. and people want to call her OP >_<

Well I've seen enough and been on the receiving end of some pretty stupid Rachel stuff to conclude all this to be classified as a truth.

She is sadly quite OP once she gets going, and with the current stun system in play added with half-ass online, you have a complete nightmare on your hands.

I for one hope they do give her some nerfs; maybe then I can go back to using her full time without feeling filthy afterwards.

Rachel v Bass is 4-6 at worst for Rachel.

You're probably going to see all of Bass' worst matchups with Rachel as well. That'd be Sarah, Kasumi, and Christie.

The reason Bass wins out over Rachel is that they effectively are playing the same game, but her speed isn't fast enough to make up for the difference in damage that each is able to do. In addition, Bass has a better environmental game than Rachel.

I go up against a competent Ayane on a regular basis and I will say that the matchup is 4:6 at the very least. Might even be 7:3. Ayane can both space her out and get out of her vortex more easily than most.

Disagree. The chart itself shows that she has a fair number of match ups that aren't in her favor.

Also, more importantly, you're using online as a basis and online should never be used as a basis for balance, especially for a fighting game where the main form of competitive play is offline.

It's all in how you approach the fight and deal with the risk/rewards.

Me, I don't get afraid of fighting a Rachel. When she does PP I will 99% of the time do a grab. For bass his 4H+P is easily done in such a situation and causes her to lose 33% of her life if she does PPT. If I get hit by a hi-counter PPK or PPP I lose a small bit of damage (30ish?) and knocks me down. If the PP put me in stun, then the throw will whiff and I'll be at around +3~5 advantage when recovering from the stun.

Her 1PP is easily holdable on reaction offline much like her other attacks, and she has no mixups from 1P.

Those are the two primary tools she uses. The okizeme game you just have to go into it knowing you won't have anything to combat it and will just have to deal with the 50/50 anyways. Just like you do with Bass.

I agree with this I fight a Bass and her speed (lol) no way makes up for his power.

What do you guys think of the Rachel vs Tina match up, it feels really bad for Tina

I would say Christie Kasumi and Sarah are probably a 3-7 for her at worst.

Bass v Sarah is practically a 1-9 or 2-8 but Rachel is a bit faster than Bass and has an easier time Ch launching Sarah. The use of her special side step attack helps her more as she's able to space better than Bass in these matchups.

Can the gen-fu and the alpha matchup be explained? I know alpha's weight is going against her, but that's the only advantage Rachel got. Gen-fu is always hard to fight and is very fast for his age.

Sorry 5-5 mainly means haven't been discussed yet, forgot to add it to other characters.

just like characters like christie, brad wong, or ayane, you just have to go out of your way to learn how to fight them effectively, same with rachel, once you learn where her weaknesses are they can easily lead to your victory

I don't compete offline, I would if it were possible. However, so long as I am stuck online I'm sticking to her being a bullshit character. And this stubborn bastard isn't going back on that opinion.

This is similar to what I told the guys at my locals. I just crouch block after PP. The throw whiffs and the kick is blocked. Her mid option knocks back, which mean you spend a tiny bit of health to get good spacing (IaMP tactics!). Free cancel options are easily reactable.

Just came out of a session of people complaining about Rachel, pointed out what you can do vs her and they seem to not be bothered by her much anymore.

She even isn't as bad as other top tiers in other games (and seems to lose out to the other top tiers in this game).

Just learn to actually play the matchup and stick to beating her in the neutral game instead of autopiloting.

Alright, I'll figure something out. I am just getting back into Helena so it might take some time, oh well.
