:(

Anyway, half the roster is not in my "set." Long story, but basically I won't use them. I'll just outline the half of the cast that is in my available set.

Main:
:hayabusa:

Submain:
:leon:

Frequently used:
:lisa: :rig: :ayane:

Occasionally used:
:tina: :leifang: :jacky: :akira:

Rarely used:
:christie: :genfu: :jannlee: :pai:

Never use:
:alpha152: :rachel:

I should write a similar one.

Main:
:akira:

Sub:
:jacky:

Frequently used:
:leon::pai::genfu:

Occasionally used:
:hayabusa::ayane::bass::bradwong:

Rarely used:
:sarah::bayman::kasumi::leifang::tina::kokoro::eliot::mila:

Never use:
:alpha152::hitomi:

What's worse, saying which character(s) you don't ever plan to use or telling the same joke repeatedly when no one laughs at it?
Either way, Project Bokuho's not getting any cool points anytime soon. Just ignore him.

If you don't have a character you never plan to use, devote yourself to a characteristic you'll never pick up, such as arrogance or a scrub mentality or something like that.

So I originally said I would never use Leon since I struggle using grapplers (and I still do) but I have to say I've played him more often and he may be the exception.

Sadly Brad Wong but not because I don't like him or his style (on the contrary I think that he has to be very funny when you know how to use him), just because seems to me one of the most complicated characters to learn in the game.

I don't mind watching any character in this game fight. About half the cast, I cheer on in my head when I see a fight. Half of that, I considered picking up and playing. Half of that, I still enjoy playing now when I pick random.

The ppl that never made it for me:
Gen Fu/Eliot (boring),
Hayate (boring ninja style),
Kasumi (too softhearted),
Ayane/Ein (spacing is not my style),
Busa (unfocused playstyle),
Kokoro/Akira (too stiff in her martial arts),
Lisa (Rey Mysterio but slow, wtf? and too focused on showmanship),
Brad Wong/Helena (too complicated for me),
Zack (just because...lol, naaah),
Pai (nothing caught my attention),
Alpha (bleh!),
Jann Lee/Jacky (not my style),

and last but most definitely not least, Bass (I prefer Tina's throws and especially her strikes, but Bass should have passed on his TFBB easy inputs down to his daughter dammit!)

What makes you say that?

I know he's a mid-range fighter, with Izunas everywhere for damage, with decent stuns, a pretty risky stance, good crushes, and good holds. My impression is that he's designed as middle-of-the-road, with crushes, some range, and grappler throws. Sometimes he seems like he's all over the place though in terms of how he gets his damage, probably due to the have-to-adapt style he has. To me, Leifang feels similar in this way, but at least her style screams defense-to-offense with all of her defensive options she can fall back on.

The idea with Hayabusa is: "Make a perfect read, get a huge reward." A good example would be his holds. You have to anticipate the hit level and with it's a punch or kick, then do the full expert-hold-izuna input and try to time it on hi-counter. That's a big hassle. But as a reward, you get the highest hold damage in the game. His options tend to blanket poorly, however. If you mess-up, you're screwed. It's hard for him to get in and initiate his best offenses and he struggles in the neutral game. He has good spacing options they relying on them won't net you the same damage as being risky and trying to get in will. Stun game is same principle. Hold out for HiC Izuna hold bait/CB, or go for a quick launch for far less damage but far, far less risk given his strike options?

Zack. I hate his persona. I get how he's supposed to be fun and whatnot, but he just comes across as a total tool to me. I put a decent weight of character lore/appearance/attitude into my picks. I know that's pretty dumb from a mere play-to-win perspective, but whatevs punks.

Meh. Pre5 Zack was an eccentric badass, but 5 Zack is a huge tool of a clown.

But i pick characters based on if I find them cool, not if i can win easier with them. It's why i use mila and Leon. And now that Christie has her new pixie cut hair, I'm pickin her up, too, cause that looks awesome in her business suit
