Nice vids Emperor. Handy to look at even if things might change for the final build. At least getting to know how certain things work from someone who has never been in a tourney scene and hasn't played DoA in ages is nice.

but i have been in the tournament scene .. for ages acctually ..
but not for doa and certainly not in the US as im based in london..
but being in tournament or not does not equal to knowledge ... so i dont really know what you're trying to get at ..

and how do you know that I havent played doa in ages ? do you live in my boxer drawer ?

but I wasnt part of the community when whatever caused that happened ..nor do I personally care much for it.

I'm not trying to defend him right now because I'm pretty sure he can stand up for himself.

But, I approached him just like I did many of you guys here ... and I have to say that he was not only very supportive but extremely helpful and insightful in the process of making the vids i did .. infact I had no fricken clue who he was or what his background was or even the level of his gameplay .. like i said before I may be new to the community but I'm not new to DOA .. I saw his forum posts on his findings in the character discussions and fames of holds etc .. and I thought hey! this guy seems to know what hes talking about so maybe he can help out. and sure enough .. he not only helped but even went out of his way to have several voice chats with me on xbl which really helped organize my thoughts and content when I did these vids. not to mention sharing many of his findings so that everyone can benefit. the stuns video was infact mostly his input as I was really struggling wording that particular vid out.

you guys may have a horrible history with him but I personally have seen nothing wrong come out from him towards me. on the contrary, all ive been seeing since ive been here was positive from him. granted everyone disagrees, but as long as the discussions are healthy then i'm pretty cool with the person whoever it is. I mean I disagreed with you drdogg and rikuto and grapefruit on several occasions but I honestly have nothing against any of you guys and you guys also have my fullest respect.

I may have sparked some conflict on occasion because I like to voice my opinion but that doesnt mean I have anything against any of you guys.

at the end of the day I come here because I like to have healthy discussions with people i share a common interest with, which is DOA. and my tutorials were in a way an indirect way to say thanks.

besides guys .. most of us are above fricken 30 here .. or pretty damn close to it .. like I said before I have no clue about the past because I never asked about it.. nor do I want to know because it does not concern me.. But I really think we can all get along because at the end of the day we all strive for whats good for the game and the community .. and whatever happened im pretty sure we're all mature enough to see past that...

lets not re-open old wounds .. let them heal and lets move on ..

Not taking it personally, just trying to help you understand. It's not what Master did in the past. It's what he did yesterday, today, and will continue doing into tomorrow. Only the most naive individual ever believes that Master's ill deeds are "in the past". Just because he hasn't robbed you personally yet does not mean it is right to condone what he's done or treat it like it's irrelevant to those he has. If you don't care, maybe you should, because as long as you're playing the game competitive it will eventually be your turn to get fucked over.

Honestly the only reason he helped you at all is because he is desperate for any kind of community support he can get right now. He pissed EVERYBODY off that was serious about the game. He isn't the type of person that does other people favors when he doesn't see it helping his own image in some way (after all, here you are being the only one to stick up for the guy). The moment your interest conflicts with his and he has power over you, you better believe the threats will start coming in. That's the type of guy he is, I can tell you that from a decade of knowing him.

Now enough about that asshole. You'll have plenty of his douchebaggery to deal with soon enough, like it or not.

You don't understand. I wasn't saying that you should dislike him. I was simply saying that the general disdain toward him is why you're seeing these responses to your "winners" video. It was nothing more than an explanation.

You said not to take it personally. No one is. You said it's funny. The people who have replied in a somewhat negative manner do not find it funny because it's Manny. It was just for laughs, and most of the people viewing it will probably laugh. But a good number of people here will not because of the reasons I've already explained.

Again, not telling you to feel the same way, or even expecting you to, just clarifying why people responded the way they did.

Despite Emperor doing all the hard work on the videos, who kept attaching his name to it to get attention? You didn't pick up on that? Then the part he makes the biggest deal about is his small contribution, a handful of demo codes that were given to him by Tecmo.

Haha, I was talking about myself, ie. I haven't played in tourney or in ages. So the info was good for me. So I was complimenting. I know you've been getting some slack, but I come in peace! Mostly...

again. whatever history you guys might have had with the guy is just between you guys. I have yet to see something negative from him towards me ..

as for getting any spotlight from this..
I was the one who put his names on the vids .. just like i was the one who put mr.wah and virtuapai's name on it as well ...and I mentioned both sites .. no1 asked me to .. infact i asked permission if it was ok to do so to everyone.. you can ask mr. wah and virtuapai as well

the intention was not spotlight though, it was to acknowledge all the help and support given to me .. and to give exposure to the doa sites out there .. which even I didnt know exsisted .. which is also why i was never part of the community...

I put his name first because he really did help out the most ..
when I put up a snip preview of the vids in the PMs and asked all you guys if anyone would give me feed back on it .. he was the only one that checked it out .. and his input was valuable .. and it made me change a few things .. (and it was easy to do so because i was early in the project)..

then like I said before he acctually did have alot of input in this project .. and he did help ..

as for getting the exposure for the codes... well they ARE HIS codes .. not mine! lol ..
and infact i was the one who approached him and said it would be nice if we could make the code giveaway as a secondary part of the tutorial ...
I approached HIM ... if you guys recall he made this status post saying .." I have codes to give away etc.." so i immediately messaged him on PM and talked over the idea on xbl .. it was one code for each console .. i asked him if he could push for more and he managed to get 2 and 2 ... which in my opinion .. more codes = more hype..

and the dancing master face thing and his calling me a cheater were both surprizes to both of us.. which what makes it even more hilarious ..

and when you search around ..
kayane from the soul calibur community (also a friend) .. mentioned my tutorials on her site ..
and ketchup and mustard (uk and world known MK heads and also great friends) also did the same everywhere ..

im gonna personally keep a positive vibe towards him and everyone else.. I dont want to treat anyone any different .. so.. thats my view on the matter ..

you guys all have my equal respect ..

The partnership / assistance from Master makes sense, but from a promotional point of view, there is an issue here and I also approach this without fear or favour for anyone:

No, they are TECMO's codes given to PROMOTE the game. If someone is given promotional items by a company the professional thing to do is to use them in a way that promotes that product/company primarily (and usually benefits to the community or group providing them such as greater exposure is a given).

The individual giving the code is acting as an AGENT for the above and their self promotion is secondary if at all.

So the messaging was incorrect, and if ANYTHING the contribution of Master could be added as a FOOTNOTE, but it would be TECMO and to a lesser degree TKPLAYERS that gets the headline (it was given to the agent because the website is a platform, not the person themselves)

I've done the same thing with VF5FS codes with Sega and people only know I'm doing it because they see the name of the person making the post, but its put to the public as a prize for participating in the event/video/promotion with thanks to Sega, not as BERZERK PRESENTS FREE SHIT I GOT FROM SEGA.

Get the difference?

People "can" change...like Emperor, I have nothing against Manny, although I was apart of the Community through some of the fall-outs. So basically Rikuto, Dr.Dogg, Tom Brady, etc are speaking from experience.

I'm pretty sure at one point they were cool with Manny and thought he was a chill dude til whatever happen...happened. I respect all, unless proven otherwise, but knowing Manny for a few months opose to Rikuto knowing him 10yrs is a huge difference.

All I can say Emperor is that you and I don't know Master personally, more so through XBL/Internet. However, until I get burn by the flame, I don't mind being in the kitchen.
