IGN Pro League DOA5 Pro Gaming Tournament

Just wanted to note that the official press release did not state the players involved. I made that information available so that all this negativity would be dealt with now and hopefully be out of everyone's system by E3 go time.

Imagine what would've happened if you guys didn't find out until Tuesday morning. This way you'll be focused on the game and the flood of information, rather than minor disputes about who's in attendance.

I understand all of the complaints, but for the sake of the game, get it out of your systems now. It will not be tolerated come Tuesday.

Chosen1 already at it apparently:

It's interesting that Carl mentioned we might see him in LA. I'm the one who signs people up for the tournament. All of the pools are capped at 16 players and you can't sign up until 15 minutes before each pool begins. I think Carl would see it as a wasted trip if he didn't get into the tournament.

It'd be better for him to save his money for the next announced event and not spend it on E3. The information he gains from E3 will greatly effect his performance in the game.

I'm sure people will be able to play the game extensively over the days of E3 during the morning of pool 1, and if you're in the later pools, even more time.

The legit players will pick up the changes fairly quickly or at least be on a good levil with one another. The rest will be mostly press and will be knocked out quickly.

We'll only be using two DOA5 stations at most (our goal is to only use one). So any other DOA5 stations will be open to play during the entirety of E3 operating hours.

That said, if someone wants to do well in the tournament and doesn't have much experience with the game (or only Alpha demo experience), they'd be wise to talk to me at the booth. This is definitely not the Alpha demo. In fact, at this point I think even Manny would be at a huge disadvantage against anyone who knows the system changes, and we all know he's been playing the demo constantly.

I'm actually curious to see if people notice some things without me pointing them out.

I'm going to post as much info about the build that will be there at the E3 booth as much as possible. It seems things will be a little on the hectic side but if any of you guys have any specific questions on the game please PM me because going through all these pages in the forums might end up getting missed and I want to be able to address all the questions possible for the WHOLE DOA Community. Also the more peeps tune into the stream/competition the better for the game, Just saying!

Great! I'll leave Hayabusa to you since I have enough on my plate as it is. I've spent a bulk of my time with the characters who aren't in the Alpha demo, since those are the characters the community has very little information on. If you want to take the four demo characters, that would be a great help.

This is more of what DrDogg was talking about - a solid info site with Wiki on the game on IGN:
http://doa.ign.com/

(Maybe it should be on the main post?)

It's in the main post, but I'll make it more prominent. Right now it's fairly barren because there wasn't really a good reason to post articles about the Alpha build when I'll be able to have E3 articles up there in less than a week.

When the broadcast begins on Tuesday, all of my articles will go live on that site though. If timing goes well, I imagine the frame data for the E3 build will go live at that time as well.

Thanks bro, feels good to have things "Alive" again. We will all have a host of questions come E3, and I can already tell the hype bar will be met and quite possibly surpassed.

I don't have a problem with Rikuto making money. Make as much money as you can as fast as you can. If this turns into a regular gig for him then congratulations.

But don't fuck people around and talk about how DOA Master is ruining the community by pulling stunts like going to japan and not getting the community in on it and then being a party to something like this. Thats being a hypocrite.

Theres a reason Rikuto ignored me and he realized that what hes doing right now doesn't line up with the image hes been drawing of himself for years.

Either go out on your shield or join the opposition - he choose the latter, good for him, now never listen to his bullshit about Master again.

You're pretty damn stupid.

Really looking forward to all of the information that will come out of this.

Relius Starkiller is a shit headed sperg? NO WAY.
Regarding politics, I don't really care who's being paid and how much the prize money is because at the end of the day, it's a marketing campaign and testing session disguised as a tournament. TK don't know how tournaments work and they surely don't know the difference between good and bad players. They'll simply pick whoever that is popular amongst their casual fans and put them on spotlight.
You shouldn't take this seriously at all.

Its really easy to string together syllables, its a whole other thing to articulate a point.

I'm stupid for pointing out that this is the same crap Rikuto's been arguing with me about for the past month and then he turns right around and does the same thing hes saying Master did so many times in the past?

He withheld information from the community at large - this is what he accused Master of doing time and again and now here he is doing it. He can say that Dr. Dogg talked about DOA5 being there, we all knew it would but who knew about the IGN pro league shit? He and his clique did.

All he had to do was make an alt account and drop hints but he wants that money too.

Also, there are other reasons why, so if after this situation Rikuto throws a bitch fit about Master holding out on anyone it'll be a joke - thats what I'm saying.

So, please, I beg you, show me where I'm fucking this up.

One thing I'll say is that the mere fact of Kayane being in this is a BIG DEAL in regards to attracting the attention of players OUTSIDE of the current community to DOA. People who don't keep up much with the community will likely be checking this out to see her performance ALONE, and if she does well (which she likely CAN, given her tournament experience in general), it will only serve to further build people's HYPE for the game.

And I'm not gonna lie. Seeing her pull an upset over ... say ... MASTER ... would be multiple kinds of glorious! BONUS POINTS if he goes in feeling himself, and underestimates her!

O M G . . .

This would be marketing wet dream Kayane's:kasumi::ayane: pulls an upset over Master's :hayabusa:?! A true "Battle Of The Sexes!"

Kayane seems like everyone's unofficial "CHOSEN1"

Rikuto and Mystik are gonna be on the mic!

Oh the HUMANITY! The ramifications of this event could ripple through the ages!

Damn, I can't wait for this . . .

Here's a thought: who cares? I sure don't care. For me, it's NO surprise that anyone from Master to Sorwah to Rikuto to DrDogg to Kayane to anyone else who is a pretty vocal and famous player of DOA, runs a popular DOA site, or famous player of other games, that they would have inside info that they weren't allowed to talk about ESPECIALLY when said gaming company REACHES out to the fanbase AND other fanbases.

Let's say for EXAMPLE that Team Ninja's condition, was that holds must stay in stun and they wanted to get feedback from everyone on what they can do or implement to go around the triangle system and make the game balanced and not guessy while holds in stun stay remained.

I would do the SAME thing if I were Team Ninja and I wanted to make my game a competitive fighter and serious. Whether you like Master or Rikuto or not, I would reach out to each community and each communities best players who know what the fuck they are talking about and take a look at THEIR perspectives and try to find a middle ground to make the best game possible while still feeling like DOA. I would also(given the amount of budget) invite said players to come test the game out as well. Sure, Rikuto and Mystik are only commentators, but I would still give them the chance to find shit and test etc...

Rikuto will be playing the game at the Event, just not in Tournaments, I'm also sure that he'll be able to voice his opinions seeing as how he knows more about Bayman/Leon than any other DOA player...plus his overall knowledge of DOA is extensive so yea, Team Ninja will have open ears to his feedback. All in all PheonixVFIRE, I agree with you.

Just shut up already and go back to TKP.

There's an ignore button if you click on the offender's name. I highly recommend using it... it's pretty much the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life.

Problem with adding a dislike button is that it actually encourages some people.

I remember on doac I'd get trolled with it... one guy even told me that he was giving me negative reputation "Not because I dislike you, but because I am helping to change your alignment towards evil."

.... yea...
