Yes, they should. Gen Fu is about to teach Eliot his style. Leon has no reason to be there, especially since there's Bayman and Team Ninja could literally give Bayman some of Leon's moves. Ein has since remembered he's Hayate and players agree that Hitomi is basically better in every way (even though I prefer Ein). Team Ninja should follow the story they set up and the roster should reflect it.
Because Momiji is brain dead. Rachel, I don't have much of a problem with.Why sadly?

After how much fans Leon has gained, I really doubt TN would make him out of the roster again. Same goes for the others, if TN get rid of a character that so many people like, that means, less people who play the game = less money.
That's make me laugh. A lot.
Keep the story to story mode. When we're playing versus, none of that is relevant. Leon, Gen Fu, Ein, Tengu, Genra, and to a lesser extent, Raidou are all unique characters with their own play styles and movesets. They add to the diversity of the competitive meta and cutting them is retarded.
Versus mode isn't canon. Leave the story out of it.
OR they could take out the non-canon characters and replace them with NEW characters with NEW & UNIQUE fighting styles. Face it, Leon doesn't enter tournaments anymore. Gen Fu is about to teach Eliot his style. Ein has remembered who he really is. Tengu was killed by Ryu. Ayane killed Genra. Raidou has long since been dead since DOA1 and NOBODY has asked for his return.
They play completely fucking different. Have you considered the ramifications of what you just suggested?
You'll have a character with a command SS that crushes highs and leads into an OH, with expert holds on all hit levels, a mid parry, tons of string mix-ups, lots of OHs AND THEN instant CB combos, a directional air throw, tons of safe strings with chargeable GBs, some of the most brutal ground throws in the game, a 13 frame lift stun, kill combos galore and a 2T and 3T that make low holders and crouch stance abusers shit their pants.
You really want a character like that?
Hitomi's 33T is as damaging as Ein's? Hitomi has a standing and crouching OH?

So was Ryu in DOA4, but they remedied that and then some for DOA5. No reason Momiji can't be re-worked a bit to be awesome.

Well now, Mila has taken her place. Tina is a sex symbol now, while Mila is kind of like throwback Tina cira DOA1.

I don't find Tina sexy at all. I'm always really annoyed by her... Yeah, she's pretty, blond and has great curves, but she acts like a 10 year old prostitute. She's dumb, childish and cheap. Now, Rachel has an equally hot body, but her strong personality makes her the real sex bomb in my eyes.
I don't know why Team Ninja made Tina's personality so...eh. I still find Tina incredibly sexy, mainly because she and I are both big dreamers. If she wants to be governor, then hell, she'll be be governor. Lol
