Then you, too, did not catch what is being referred to.

I'm not saying there isn't excitement in the air in anticipation of seeing the leaked characters in action, I'm saying the leak killed the RUSH that should've been there for the reveal.

Take the Sarah reveal ...

... instead of people's response being "OOOOOOOO MMMMMMMMMMM GGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! SARAH BRYANT IN DOA5!!!!!!! YES!! YES!! YES!! YES!! ... *Daniel Bryan infinite chant* ... *MIND BLOWN*" ...

... people's response ends up being "Oh, that's just Sarah. Meh. I already knew she was in the game. What I want to see is her in gameplay".

Now if Tecmo could get our hype raised by adding Ein, Momiji, and Rachel, I would be Like on the hype wagon. Because I heard somewhere in an interview that Yosuke wanted to add Momiji to Dead or Alive 5 if she recieved positive success in NGS2 (which she did). She even went on to appear in NG3, so I think we could see her. On top of the fact that Ein couldnt just be left out, he's too popular. Now Rachel, maybe that will be just a bonus, thats a big bitch lmao :p. On the real though, You cant take demo exe.'s seriously nowadays, because they add more characters eventually. Take MK9 for example with Freddy Krueger. No one even THOUGHT he would be a character.

DLC is always key to adding more characters like SFIV adding in 9 and an additional 4 with the Arcade Edition, but anyway, lets try to focus on the ones we're getting now.

Also, mind digging through some Articles to back up that statement because I would really like to hear/read that for myself.

Hitomi is pretty much like Ein but a girl version of him. I couldn't really care less if he isn't in the game or not, which is kinda strange for me to be saying that because he used to be my main in DOA2/3 lool

Rev ... he is NOT the same ... even if the move set were 100% identical .. its also a personality thing ...

best example I can give is in soul calibur...
SETSUKA ... and alpha PATROKLOS ...
I loved setsuka and played her so much almost to make her my main ...
alpha pokemon on the other hand ... i fucking hate him so much and want him to die a miserable death ... with a heated up pitch fork going right up his ass and out of his skull tearing his inner organs and brains out in the process....

its not just about the moves ...

Ein was cool man .. but i have a feeling that deep down they didnt want him back in because well ... hes what Itagaki fantasized himself as .. glasses, leather jacker, the hair .. hell he still wears that stuff now .. lol ... it might be like an indirect way of saying ... look, we moved on from that era .. and now we're a new team ...

its probably why hayate's move list is so shit in the alpha demo .. lol

And Emperor, Team Ninja could very well add Ein's move-list to a newer character or just add Ein in all together through DLC...but tick tock til then right??

Disagreeing with your statement does not mean that I "don't get it." Go back and read people's impressions the day the Akira trailer came out, which was before the demo and the leaks came out. People were anticipating either A) an entire DOA x VF crossover or B) "my favorite character from VF will be in DOA5!" A glimpse of Sarah would have only added fuel to the fire. Then when scenarios A and B weren't true, more people would be disappointed with the final game. Those leaks help keep people's expectations of what to see in check and instead now people know what to look forward to seeing instead of dramatic reveals that may or may not be exciting.

Wild speculations and dream scenarios are natural and common following an epic reveal. There's nothing wrong with that, as that is just a part of the kind of excitement the reveal is intended to generate. It gets people interested, and talking about the possibilities.

Just like people are now talking about various Thanos buildups that would be possible across the upcoming Marvel movies leading up to Avengers 2. People don't "know" Thanos will have any special scenes in these movies, but they are excited about the mere POSSIBILITY of it. Same goes for talk about more Marvel characters getting introduced throughout these movies. Dream scenarios abound.

And here is where I will disagree with you. You seem to be arguing that just because someone's dream scenario for a game doesn't happen, it means he/she will be disappointed with the final result. This, to me, is like saying someone would be disappointed with The Avengers because [insert Marvel character] didn't appear in it. A great final product is a great final product no matter what a particular dream scenario was, and anyone who can appreciate a great fighting game will still very much enjoy DOA5 (should it turn out great) even if [insert character] isn't in it.

Maybe you are the type of person who prefers to know exactly what you are getting before you get it ... ala someone who would like to see the script for a movie before seeing the movie. I, on the other hand, am the type of person who prefers to not know exactly what I am getting, so I can enjoy all of the hype and anticipation and buildups and hints, etc., leading up to the delivery.

I like having the excitement of the Nintendo 64 kid

-Akira in the DOA universe was a shock that the whole fighting game community felt. No one expected that. The reveals of Sarah and Pai(My favorite), would have been another Shock(lesser than Akira, but a shock none the less). Taking that away, takes some of the suspension away. I do agree that it put the whole Doa vs VF to bed(with this iteration of the game), at the cost of hype. Now players have the rest of the stages to look forward too, and the two new Doa members. If Team Ninja still want to deliver hype, and keep the community bustling, they can release an expansion a year or two down the line with more characters and stages(seeing some stages and costumes from all of the previous Doa games re-visualized would wet many of our pants).

-Yes, and throw in the dragon hill stage from Doa2...The great wall was nice...If they had all of the past stages as down loadable content, I would purchase it.

-I am pretty sure Team Ninja would know there would be an uproar If we didnt end up getting the same content. Also, It would be a must for it to be distributed to the other consoles, otherwise it will cause a rift in the already fragile community.

They're known to give exclusive updates, especially with NG. But DOA2 and DOA3 have also seperated said communities with exclusive content.
