Right now, I have it set to Character, but I might switch back to Stage music. Musical variety is nice and I totally get where @LightSonic is coming from. But there are a lot of character themes that I do enjoy hearing during a fight, such as "The Successor", "Knifepoint", "Eternity", "Grand Style", just to name a few. But there are some stage themes that I do like to listen to, like "Tedious Days" (Street), "Liberation" (Lab), "Tiger's Family" (The Tiger Show), "The City Never Sleeps" (Sky City Tokyo), just to name a few.

It just depends on what the game feels like. Sometimes, I'll hear my opponent's character's theme and sometimes, I'll hear my character's theme.

I have it set to character themes because of the ability to customize the music per character and because alot of the past DOA music just plain kicks ass. I would've set the music to stage if you could've customized the music, because essentially all of the DOA5 vanilla themes suck major ass except Graceful Sounds. However the new 5U stages have awesome music like Fallen Leaves, Gaia or The City Never Sleeps for example.

I've made sure to select different themes for each character to ensure that I enjoy every theme selected and have avoided giving 2 or 3 characters the same theme.

I'm really hoping they add regular Lorelei w/ Marie Rose with the only reason being I want that kickass Blood Ties remix stage theme so I can give it to Helena. ;)

I would do Stage music if you could set the stage music to DOA2-4 music, but since that's not possible I have it set to characters.

I really hope they do add Blood Ties Remix. (why not all the remixes from DOA2 as well?)

Blazed Up Melpomene is hardly replaceable for Helena so I'm sticking with that to the end. I'd probably set Blood Ties Remix for either Marie Rose or Sarah. (I set Tina's True Beauty as her bgm lol)

Not me. I think TN could have given her a better theme or they could have at least remixed the DOA4 themes, since they didn't bother to give the characters new themes in DOA5, sans Rachel, Momiji, Marie Rose, and probably cloaked girl.

Yes DOA4 remix themes would have been great. And Tribal Beats isn't terrible but I agree it's not amazing imo compared to some of the other themes. It needs more of a Latin flair to it since she is a luchadora after all. ;)

I have it set to character. Changed Pai & Lei-Fang's theme to fallen leaves. Kasumi & Ayane have their DOA2 theme songs ( I'm a sucker for Hitohira <3 ) and everyone else on their default.

Luckily most of the people I play use multiple characters, and those who stick to the one character are usually in a room with 2-3 people so it doesn't bother me too much.

I recently changed Milas theme to Ultimate Weapon. I love the fuck out of it. pummeling people as mila to the sound of Leons voice in the background? chubby time.
