I can't believe I'm gonna be using Tengu's moveset after more than a decade playing DOA.

I do have a few questions with nyo, I do plan on using her

How slow is she?
If she's really slow will she have good evasive options/offensive holds to make it up for it?
Is that unblockable attack with the gust useful at all?
Which character is she most similar too so i get a good idea?

sorry to bug you all i'm just really curious

@David Gregg found some good stuff for Nyo Tengu.

I don't know I'd definitely read the others before considering mine. XD The reason why I think karasu-tobi (9P) is the stance she's performing all of those attacks from is b/c if you watch, especially when she's juggling Tina, it looks like the player is putting her back into the same animation before beginning the next mid-air strike (unless of course certain attacks automatically put her in a new flight stance).

Basically 9P allowed Tengu to flap his wings once up in the air so you'd have to press additional P's or else you'd fall. So it could go something like this: (launches Tina) 9P + (_PP) + 9P + KKK (or H+K like MR)

Granted that would be pretty annoying to have to keep Nyogu up in the air during those combos. lol

If she's like Bankotsubo, her speed will make Bass seem like an R1F rushdown character.

If she's like Bankotsubo, no.

If it's like Bakotsubo's gust attack, then no, not really. You could get some tricks in with the feint, but that's about it. Oh, and it was blockable. And holdable.

Which character is she most similar too so i get a good idea?
Probably Bankotsubo, who was most similar to picking random and then wearing a blindfold the entire fight.

Sorry if I'm not being too helpful, but afaik, we have no idea what her frame data is like, nor do we know her complete moveset or anything like that. So anyone answering those questions will be doing so out of speculation rather than hardcore facts.

Like Brute said no one has enough info to answer any of those (except for the last obviously which is Tengu. :p). You could watch YT vids of Tengu I guess but that's like watching DOA3 Kasumi fights in order to get ready for 5U Kasumi. If Tengu was directly ported from 4 as is he would be very low tier. The only reason why he could get by in 4 was due to shitty gameplay mechanics which basically made any character viable (mostly b/c it became a guessing game) however in 5U he wouldn't stand a chance so TN has hopefully made the needed improvements for the character.

Honestly, I'd be fine with her coming in at 11/14/14

Some characters are meant to be slower. As long as she's got tools that really reward you once you do get your offense going, I don't have a huge problem with her being slower, especially if she's a super heavyweight.

And one of her win quotes is "I am the female tengu of Miyama!"
Is it the exact same as this? @5:14
And Brute, Tengu's gust was not holdable.

Also,
If she's based on DOA4 Tengu, she shouldn't have any dangerous or great options.
DOA4 Tengu had one really great option going for him, actually. His KK and 6K GBs were so huge they offered a guaranteed 3P launch.
