I agree with Bryan, feints would be terrible in DOA. Especially againts characters with strong and quick throws like Kasumi or Busa.

I disagree. Rarely do you see someone counter your first attack. The way DOA works, I actually see this working in favor of the defending player, but I could be wrong. I'm just not seeing the benefit of canceling a 13-frame high kick, leaving you at what I can only assume is a decent negative. It's like a telegraphed free cancel.

I'd say it depends on 3 things:
1. Feinting only long execution attacks would definitely be telegraphed. But if it were all attacks (quick, slow, and at any point in your string), then it wouldn't.
2. The way you use it. If you spam the feint, for sure you'll get whooped...
3. Recovery time. If feints were to give a +frame advantage, they would be too strong. If the recovery time were too long, then it would be like shooting yourself in the leg. But there has to be a benefit for the player in case the opponent bites into it with a Hold, as well as a penalty for the ones who gambles too often with it.

Implementing such a mechanic would evidently require a lot of balancing...

Said Hayashi. "I've personally always seenVirtua Fighter as the parent and Dead or Alive as the offspring."

Well, I don't know how to say about this...but is somewhat true...

For the creators at SEGA, theDead or Aliveseries was viewed differently at first. "When I first sawDead or Alive, my initial impression was,‘Look at them jiggle.'" Said Katagiri. "But when I actually played the game, the uniqueness of the defense and offense mechanics and the original elements of things like the danger zone were enjoyable and gave me an overall image that it was ‘a series that has evolved in its own way.'"

I had to quote this.
That Interview cleared me so many doubts about what SEGA thinks about DOA.

that could be what they are trying to hint lol. You beat the tutorial, then all of a sudden Ein pops out with his traditional gi. lmao

Honestly, I won't be surprised if Ein and Tengu(shit maybe even Genra and Raidou) suddenly make appearances since Team Ninja has hardly(well seemingly) any secrets that aren't leaked. Other than maybe certain game modes or new online stuff.

Man they're talking way too much about the VF cameos in all these interviews. Honestly I skipped most of those questions, it already takes me way too long to read a paragraph

Haven't read the famitsu or game watch stuff yet but so far that blog post summed things up pretty well. To expand on cliffhangers, you jump over the hanging character if you miss the window to choose your attack, which is now more easily telegraphed. They're fine tuning things so that grabs are high risk, high reward, and attacks low risk, low reward.

That's Japan for you. VF is so dad-gummed respected over there that you can't help but talk about them frequently in your interview just to get folks to buy your game. Especially in the case of DOA, where it sells a lot more everywhere else but Japan.
