The Ogre/True Ogre thingy was done with Raidou in DOAD at the end of the DOA1 storyline.

I know what you mean. I had so much fun when I finally beat the first three bosses on NG that I cut the power off on the Xbox just so I could get that feeling again. Genra as Omega on DOA3 was a pushover on normal, but on very hard beating him never failed to give me an adrenaline rush.
In the absence of Itagaki Team Ninja has adopted a philosophy that involve making games easier. I hope they either refine or rethink this strategy because the AI on DOAD was appalling. I completed the 100 wins in survival mode simply because the later combatants would literally do nothing but defend attacks randomly after going super saiyan until my health got to around 30%. It made me feel like I didn't earn it. Overall, it was a good game given the hardware limitations of the 3DS, but the AI was trash.
