I've seen several people re-submit their entries and TN accepted them. I don't see why Bananakira can't have a second go (unless they've already included it of course...)
My primary concern is getting costumes into the game, not necessarily winning the contests. And since the winners aren't necessarily the ones that TN will make in the game, I feel like if TN is going to make Bananakira, they will make him, regardless if I submit him again or not. A lot of people voted for him, so TN knows he's in demand.
So I'm doing something a little different this time.
You working on a costume? is it Hayabusa? Akira?
I know people are probably wondering why I don't make Hayabusa costumes, and I'm just going to be perfectly honest:
Hayabusa's Legacy/Throwback outfit is the best outfit that character can have. Sure, I could give him a custom design and feel all special, but ultimately, I'd just end up wanting the classic Hayabusa back; the one from the old days that I've come to love so much and who has been there with me since my early gaming days, and helped define my eventual progress into competitive gaming.
Whatever outfits come along for him, I'll basically always be using that classic outfit. So that's why I don't make costumes for Ryu. He's already got a better design than I could give him.
