I will be a douche if I so choose to be a douche good sir and or madam. I'm not knocking his skills at rendering 3D models, but his choice of costume design on Hitomi is awful. It's more like a trashy "sexy" costume just for the sake of being a trashy and "sexy" costume. Last I checked, Hitomi's character wasn't trashy or overly exposing unnecessarily. Give that costume to Tina or Lisa, that'll fit.

He's the Daphne of the group.

Hayate's problem is that he's supposed to be the leader of the ninjas but he's inferior to them in every way. And he doesn't compensate for it with other things. It's not like he's a brilliant tactician or a wise master; he doesn't have a bunch of accomplishments on his belt and he doesn't have a charming personality or anything to win you over.

So he's just bland and boring, and is remembered most fondly when he wasn't even himself (Ein).

He's only in charge due to lineage.

Clearly them Japanese Ninjas must have a bit of thick 'Merica blood running through their veins.
