Yes it would. It gives people the lazy route out. It completely stops offensive pressure. I can't count how many times i'm going ham as fuck and have to sit there trying to guess what kick the person is going to do. That's annoying. It interrupts my flow when i'm trying to play with Zack.
You say wake up kicks are the "lazy way out" while defending the actual lazy way out of the attacker not having to deal with the attacked being able to defend themselves.

"My opponent can fight back? HAX!!"

Too many guesses= too many random factors. So why have them in the game?

it wouldn't be as bad if knocking your opponent down didn't put you in danger
Its not as bad because you can just back up/block/counter hold/grab to punish opponents as they get up.

If the opponent is knocked down, you dropped your combo, its idiotic to expect that you should get to continue wailing on the opponent without repercussions. (This is why actual combat sports have referees by the way. I see wakeups and whatnot as built in refs to keep things from being one sided.)

In ufc you dont get wakeups. You get stomped. Thats real life.

i didn't drop my combo i dropped the back of my foot on top of their skull then snapped their neck. im not asking that to continue beating on them i just don't want to stand there looking like an idiot not able to avoid an attack i KNOW is coming

In ufc/real life you can grab their leg/get up/fight back. Not like DOA where you get juggled/stunned.

* there are wakeups, they just usually aren't kicks lol*
They are grabs, exactly. You might get a ground kick like in UFC/real life but thats it. Most of the time if you get in a real fight, you grab out of desperation, or punch, or kick. Not a wake up sweep kick. Its too impractical imo.

Any competent Eliot player will make sure you know about it by flattening your ass several times until you learn to respect his WU options.
