I heard that Chain Grabbing was removed in Smash 4.

So does that mean they can finally unban walk offs?

I know they won't, but that was, as far as I know, the only legit reason they had to ban walk off levels.

Walk-off stages were banned for numerous reasons, as far as I know. Chain grabbing was one of the reasons, but there's also the fact that they essentially change a big portion of the game, in that there's no edge, and therefore no edge-related tactics. It also becomes possible to lose your character and not know how far you are from the blastzone.

Also, characters with powerful throws, or with attacks that have powerful knockback can also KO ridiculously easily.

Walk-off stages just aren't deemed suitable for competitive play.

"Conditioning" for the love of all that is holy.

Also, Reincarnate.

Conditioning and Reincarnate have been added to DOA3's list. Hopefully they sound alright for you.

GimR and PB&J were playing the Japanese Smash 3DS demo, and they found something. It's called Rush Cancelling.

What is Rush Cancelling, you ask? Well... it's this:

Also, look at the damage on Villager's Bowling Ball:

That's some funky fresh tech, there.

All of the reasons you listed I personally would still be fine with playing competitively. Not knowing the stage or the character matchup I chalk up to player ability, just like DOA.

I just saw the stream for Smash 3DS (some people got early copies). I like what I see in terms of characters and stages. I never thought I'd see the original Mute City course from F-Zero for SNES as a stage. Same with Magicant from Mother and Mother 2 (Earthbound).

Here's a replay of the stream: http://www.twitch.tv/hamayama/b/567404573

Watch before it gets removed.

You're the best! Main theme remix is epic and Duck Hunt Dog is hilarious. XD

Supposedly all of the characters can be unlocked after just 120 versus matches.

This is definitely great news, as that means you can unlock the full roster in just 20-30 minutes. Just do 1v1 stock matches against the AI, set it to only 1 stock, and SD yourself 120 times.

Hopefully the stages will be equally easy to unlock.

Does anyone have a screen cap of the complete roster from the streams?

I also noticed that you can unlock characters through Classic mode. Is there a way for that?

Smash 3DS demo will be coming to the US next Friday. For Nintendo Club Platinum members, they can get it today via code. If you are chosen, Nintendo will give you 4 more codes to share with your friends.

As the release draws closer for American shores (lol, we have a month left), I'm getting pretty excited. All my characters made their return, however, none of the newcomers excite me so far. I guess I'll try out Greninja and WiiFit Trainer for lulz, but I'm sticking with my usual characters: Ness, Captain Falcon, Wario, Pit, Falco, and Diddy Kong.

Japan is getting a Week 1 patch for Smash Bros 3DS. This patch includes World Map spectator mode and other fixed issues that were found in the game.

It seems that most, if not all characters can also be unlocked through Classic, yes, but boosting 120 vs matches will be much faster.

It's not quite clear how some of the Classic mode unlocks are done though, as some people have unlocked characters through Classic mode in ways that others players didn't.

And here's a slightly better quality shot of the full roster.

Are there seriously two pits and two Marios?

At least Falco and Tink have the decency to LOOK different...enough with the clones..

Also not a fan of so many generic pretty anime faces among the cartoon characters.

...still gonna use ike, palatuna, and sonic though. Oh and rosalina.

...I use nunchuk...always hayed GameCube controller

Well Dark Pit is basically Brawl Pit, and Dr. Mario stays true to his Melee self.
