If the damage from the Critical Burst would exceed past the threshold, then you would want to do the CB as it would put them in the Critical Burst Stun.

You can string and extend the stun as much as you want until that point.

Oh ok thanks for clearing things up. I know critical burst is new to DOA but i never really noticed stuns and stuff from DOA4, i know they are there i just played DOA4 so casually i guess. Never looked into it till now.

Just played DOA4 again since i learned lots of new things from you guys and i noticed the grayed out bar only when i practiced. But do stun attacks do anything in DOA4? I know they are used in DOA5 for critical burst.

Click on stuns. Even though this coveres the Alpha demo and alot has changed since then (particularly bursts and sit down stuns), but it covers the the main things that revolve around stuns and alot of it has been carried on from DOA2,3, and4.

Wow thats a really informative video. Never realized how most attacks cause a stun. Too bad stuns dont seem to be too useful, seems like nothing is guaranteed in DOA. Glad they added critical burst, but i heard they are tweeking it now and some other stuns.

In the article that Dogg posted on page one they mention there are 4 situations now that lead to guaranteed juggles: Burst Stun, Knock Back Stun, Sit Down Stun and Limbo Stun.

It's like a sit down stun only the person is knocked back further like they're sliding on ice.

Oh ok. I never knew any of this in DOA4. So if you get someone into a stun and the life bar flashes. Do you just do an attack to keep them in a stun or do you have to do a stun attack again to keep them in the stun to do the critical burst afterwards? Sorry i just started realizing how much deeper DOA is seeming to be.

For the most part, any attack you use during a stun will act as a counter hit and extend the stun (unless it's an attack that launches or knocks down).

The greyed out health wasn't part of the gameplay system in DOA4. It's a new addition to DOA5. What you see in the training mode of DOA4 is essentially just a visual aid to show damage.

The stun threshold was on display in the in-fight lifebars for DOA++, DOA2, and DOA3. I'm not sure about DOA4, and not to positive about DOA2 and its countless revisions.
