To Team Ninja,
Please INCREASE the Countdown Time for Character Selection Screen to 99 seconds.
Currently there are so many costumes and characters that there is not enough time to load each costume and select one character choice we like before the countdown time go out. (Example, in VS, not enough time to scroll down to a costume I want and the game starts)

No.
Some ppl intentionally let the timer run to piss others off..

This happens in sf all the time.
No thanks.

Waits 99 seconds two times because people like to let the timer go all the way down to 0 instead of hitting X.
25 seconds would be fine imo tbh

Actually in DoA4 too... everytime there was a countdown, after or before the match, you found always someone that wanted piss everyone in this way.

Wait! Letting the timer run makes people mad? Yet, in offline tourneys, someone is "thinking,"? Why do I find this odd? I thought playing matchups and counter-picking was legal? Indeed 99 seconds would be too much! However, the only reason that there are too many costumes and so little time is, well ... people keep getting them! "I'm going to buy the entire pack for ONE costume!" My main only has four. However, with the shortest amount of time being 3secs, how is this "fair"? Not a big deal for me though. I doubt if she had a buttload of costumes, I'd waste time going through all of them. For me, Helena has 10, but I only pick one!

99 seconds would be too much time! But I would like to piggy-back off that for a minute:

Since you have that much time in a solo ranked match, would it hurt for players to wait 5-10 secs before attacking opponents? I'm fine with realizing later, but that is asinine to assume your opponent is there just because we got to First Round so quickly! I suggest folks drop the controller for just a few seconds on purpose. 495s in a match (8m 15s), but due to assuming, it's over in 15 because you're impatient? (I would give my opponent at least a round if not continue to wait. Better yet, give him/her a free round regardless of the end result)

The majority of the people make it uniquely for getting mad everyone: you are in a winner stay lobby where you have to wait your turn for fighting, there is a very strong player that reamin in top all the time (not that is a fault), and in addition he also make funny of everyone delaying the most possible the match with the countdown after the match ended and during the selection of the opponent (not on the stage only because there the choice is of the challenger). This was a sadly standard routine in DoA4.

After that this happens 2-3 times in a row and you are still in list for waiting your turn of playing, and you know that if you lose your match the cycle will continue again... well, I believe that is not nice...

EDIT: Don't misunderstand me: I've no problem to wait for a match if the other player is indisposed, I also wait to fight instead to get an easy victory; I'm just talking of when this is done on purpose for hurting you.

But what does the CS timer have to do with this? This is no different than having unlimited time (for very good reason), but then come the excuses: "The matches end up too long if my opponent turtles! (but then I turtle to retaliate) (I hate that term) This goes back to what I was saying with 495secs in a rank match! Why are you so impatient? You are most likely going to combo-fuck and win as fast as possible, so why should infinite time be an issue for you?

Now, if you have someone running the lobby, just wait till that player gets bored and leaves - chances are they are bored with rank and/or wanting to just troll!

I get it - I just don't think it's necessarily done to piss people off. There's the other side. What if you can play the entire cast - you know everything. "Hurry up and pick!" See?

What do you guys think of the life setting? How much you would like it to be? 240? 270? 300?

300 is fine! Alpha already gets complaints for 50% (150% HiC; 149pts - why 149? Is that health point so crucial?) on that setting alone! Two would kill you or it should given the math: 300 - 149*2 = 2! Meaning, you're literally done on both 240/270 (-58/-28) unless, damage scales properly according to the setting chosen!

TBH, health points wouldn't make a difference since too many will be busy CF-ing to notice!

I like it at 300 but I know a lot of the competitive community says 270 is better.

Is it evenly distributed?

A = 240, C = 270, E = 300; solve for B and D

C - A = 30; E- C = 30:
B = +30/2 = +15 = B = 255 (Small)

Therefore, upon even distribution, D must be:

285 (Large)

240>255>270>285>300 = A>B>C>D>E

It's faster, but not necessarily better though I understand time constraints. However, they do have a minute per round mandatory setting (from what I've seen). Then again, the game is centered around pressure and winning as fast as possible. So, idk!

It'd be cool if you could dial down the opacity of the black background of move details. Sometimes you can barely see what's going on.
