If I were to make any sort of prediction, it is going to be "a" character announcement and one (or two) more stages on showcase.

I'm not sure what game he's talking about, but hopefully things soften up a little in LR.

So I'm guessing if there was a famitsu scan we would have heard about it by now right? Bummer...it's not impossible that there will be a character reveal this week but it's less likely now...

Seems that way. I've seen some Famitsu news for other games this week, but nothing for DOA even though this week's issue has definitely made the rounds by now.
I do wonder what TK Europe was talking about when they said we'd hear some news this week. If it isn't in Famitsu though (TK's go-to magazine for big announcements), then it's probably just something minor, or at least not a character reveal.
