thats generally what taunts do

Durp...you think?! But anyhow, not everyone has Cyclops lasers from their eyes just for a non-damaging taunt. Hell, even in DOA4 Tina even had a typical punch taunt that hit the opponent if they were close enough, I'd think "Eye Beams" would do something more significant.......

98% of all Taunts do nothing more than just that...Taunt...but you have those 2% in some Fighting games that has certain properties to them. I'm thinking Zack's Eye Laser is apart of that 2%, however, I'll just have to wait and see.

Of course this isn't an important issue at all whatsoever, just addressing this matter is all I'm doing.

The best fighting games have balance issues. Usually pretty severe ones. I'm fine with the VF characters having their VF frame data, provided the DOA characters get a little safer themselves to compensate. Certain characters on the DOA side should also be frame advantage/guard break beasts, but again, not everybody.

Not all playstyles require this to win. I was overjoyed to see Bayman has some frame advantage for once, but if it came to him any easier it would just be dumb.

I'm just saying that it might be a severe balance issue. We're talking about something like characters with barely any safe moves vs characters that will usually be at a big advantage. I'm hearing that it's being done to every DOA character so far regardless of how they are designed.

Which characters will usually be at a big advantage?

IIRC both you and Rikuto mentioned how much advantage Sarah had, even mentioning how much better it made her than the rest of the cast.

Have you played Sarah in VF? I wouldn't say she's always at big advantage, it's just that a skilled player will use the advantage she has to do well in DOA.

I agree that the DOA characters should be safer, but I think you're exaggerating the situation, especially if Sarah is your only example.

I'm only quoting what has been said. All I'm saying is that later down the road it might be considered OP once the game has been developed.

Well, as much as they don't matter, the casuals of DOA will call her OP regardless. Then again, they'll call anyone OP, but still...

Calling everyone my toughest opponent is not the same as calling a character OP.

I just prefer not to underestimate anyone.

Nor do I. As a Kasumi player in DOA4, 60% of my matches were people raging that I had the most OP character in the game. Kasumi. Yes, KASUMI.
