The recent JPN only survey from Team NINJA, about what female character make the subject of a life-size tapestry to add as extra content unique for the Strongest Edition of DoA5LR, it's just ended ended. Like everyone can easily imagine, the winner is....

...the iconic Kasumi, of course! It's not a case if she is the "poster-girl" of the series (yes, this one was terrible I know...)

Design wise, Mila is pure west, while Marie Rose is pure east, and it shows lol.

Not to say Mila would any contests here either, but I'm pretty sure shed place at least.

lol Marie Rose who was just a recent addition in DoA5U was only 1.1% away from tying with the established DoA series female protagonist who existed for several years. She already overtaken the previous series established #2 girl by nearly 4%. I bet her popularity will continue to rise if she actually has story/cutscenes/etc for DoA 6 since LR is soon going to give her a gravure video. This makes me curious when Namco makes a popularity poll just to see how well LC places.

There's a reason why Marie Rose has been added to all the advertising material, such as replacing Hayate on the arcade stick and being one of the two cover characters in the Japanese box art (Everywhere else is Kasumi + Phase 4).

So Kasumi getting first makes complete sense.
Marie gets second with almost just as many votes as Kasumi (really, Japan? that transparent?).
Ayane gets third with no real surprise.
Then... Kokoro? Literally the most bland-looking character in the entire game gets 4th? Does this have something to do with them thinking she's top tier or what? I wouldn't think so, but what other reason is there?
So then Hitomi gets 5th. Predictable.
Then the unannounced mystery character? Yeah, go vote for the character you know jack shit about. Go team.
Then we have Nyotengu, whose fanbase is so large and diverse; full of dedicated loyalists (right?).

Kokoro is a blatant geisha/maiko 'Japanese beauty' archetype character. Those type of characters in anime/games in Japan tend to be ranked higher in popularity polls. Yumi was ranked #1 for SK SV popularity poll for example http://www.senpaigamer.com/sony-vit...us-character-vote-result-update-01112013-1308. So yeah highly doubt Kokoro was 4th place because of her tier placement lol. She probably might have ranked higher if she had a fraction of the exposure Kasumi or Ayane gets.
