System Uhm.... wheres the Stun Guide ?

@Lulu, your issue is you having to learn the training mode settings. Everything is there to your disposal, bro.

  • When you go into training mode & you're search for stuns, you turn on you "Stagger Escape" & choose either slowest, slow, fast, or fastest to check the stun level. This is how you determine how good your stuns are. You have to make sure on any of these settings that your counter hit is set on "Always Counter" (Same for the ones below).
  • If you're checking for holding during a stun, all you do is set your CPU reaction to "Hold" of any kind.
  • If you're checking for guaranteed damage, you turn on your Stagger Escape with the critical holding level turn onto any speed (check all levels)
  • You can also check these yourself by using the AI settings of CPU recording & then Replay with you seeing what could be done, like Stagger Escape, block, or hold. Same can be applied to the other things in my post.

I know.... but have I mentioned just how extremely lazy I am ?
I tinker with the training tool when I'm too bored too fight but not bored enough to play something else.
Plus the characters I know well don't have all the attacks to trigger the stuns I'm looking for.... hell with Tina I can only trigger her Limbo Stun with KP.... and it doesn't always trigger that specific stun and I don't know why........ well that was before I found out about MK's stances.......
My theory is the limbo stun is triggered by whether one or both of the characters is facing a specific direction (Not the obvious BT).

Can't somebody else do it ? Its so much work... :(
How many of the people on this forum play competitively anyway ? I figuted they would've already tested all the stuns by now....

Yes, they all have. I've done that, Allan Paris, HajinShinobi, Hoodless, Sly Bass, Sorwah, Shade Swifteye, CJ, Rikuto, all of them. There are guides & threads for those particular things. I don't know who you play besides Kasumi & I assume Tina & Helena. So you may want to talk to them, but if you look in the Kasumi threads, especially the guide, there is plenty of info about how her stuns work. The majority of the stuns that you're looking for will more than likely be discussed through character forums.

In other words, you want to get better in the game, but without putting some efford in it. I don't think this will work that good.

Anyway, no need to bring out theories how Tina get's her limbo stun. Since you wrote that it doesn't always trigger, I assume it's stance dependend. This is also covered in Emperow Cow's tutorial:

I think you really might be better of just watching the whole thing so you wouldn't need to jump from one assumtion to another. And look ... you don't even have to do something, just grab a bowl of crisps or popcorn, sit down on your couch and watch.

Its Tina and Mila, I'm thinking of adding Lisa as my final back up just for her Ceiling Throw.... and yeah I'm getting support from everybody. was just hoping for something more..... Universal.... actually we already have that too.... I was hoping for something Universal but still in depth....
Just like the Weight Classes Sticky.... loved that one By The Way - Didn't know Helena and Gen Fu were fatties.

I can't..... sadly....
And Effort is no problem, its the reseach on top of the effort I'm too lazy to do. I don't do Trial and Error type Testing.... well not excessively.
I've put alot of work into learning this game because everything else I've worked on has had a very detailed source I could use for reference.... well mostly.

Learning the game by playing the game is a much easier thing to do than learn by reading or watching. I thought I had all of Leon's stuff pretty much covered but in the past two months I've been finding new stun situations with him that guarantee him damage or force a must hold situation. If I hadn't been experimenting I don't think anyone would have found these things (most recently an extension on his BT limbo stun).
Found some BT tech that is just absolutely lovely.

7P, 1P, 3K into Forks Unholdable 46P (except this time it actually is Unholdable and you get +4 on Block) and must be held out of after the 1P (cannot SE).

And one that works on all weight classes is 7P, 1P, 9K, Air throw (substitute 9K with 214P for SH). Can't be SE'd but can he held after the 1P.
All super heavies but Rachel can avoid the 9K on Fastest SE (God knows why)214P into air throw for only 2 points less damage (SH in general you should be going for 214P for air throw). You may need to buffer in a dash after the 214P depending on distance and who you use it on. I noticed at close range you have to buffer one in on Raidou. Otherwise this cannot be SE'd and for just about every other weight class you get a back hit on the 9K so extra height gives you more time to run in (as with all 9K launches you still can't combo afterwards).

I bet that if I handn't had a rare moment of brilliance playing against another player who happened to be BT while I was using Bayman I doubt anyone would have ever discovered that situation. Sometimes you just have to get up and go and wonder to yourself "What can I do with X?"

Thats true.... up to point. I'm actually having a similar problem with Disney Infinity, they only put out a tutorial for only how half of the tools work, I tried experimenting with the other hald but I just lost interest, as I mentioned before... I don't like Trial and Error type testing, I need to know the properties of "X" before I start thinking "What can I do with X".
I discovered something with Tina too, although I haven't talked about it with anybody at the Tina Board just yet.
Anyway I've been having trouble with Mix ups against walls because pretty much All if her Kicks cause wall Splats, except her 9K (Launcher) which performed a function I wasn't looking for.... and her 2K, which I never paid much attention too because all low moves in this game have always given me unexpected results. Usually lows are good on counter hit to get the initial stun, but I couldn't use it at any point after that because some lows will knock the opponent completely off their feet, some will knock them into an incredibly short stun that I can't follow up with and some knock them them into a low profile stun that I can't follow up with Highs.
But Tina's 2 K, atleast after the Initial stun, is not as weak as her 2P so I can follow it up with something and its not as strong as her 1P so it won't knock over an opponent or knock them down so low that I high won't reach them.
Anyway: after 2K I can connect with 9P in a wide open space.... but agains a wall I found out that (3) P will also connect without causing a wall splat, but it won't connect if I use it in a wide open space because 2K cause them to Step Back.

I actually discovered this will testing the Slip Stun, now I thought Counter Hit was pretty much the samething as Crtitical Level Two because alot of of the moves have the same properties under those conditions, now hitting an opponent with a low at crtitcal level two doesn't allow you to follow up with a critcal burst (atleast not with some characters) So my plan was to do the samething on a slippery surface and see if I can get an exaggerated slip stun to extend the stun duration long enough for a Critcal Burst to Connect..... well it didn't work. You can only get the exaggerated slip stun on Counter Hit. On steady ground you get the same type of slip stun on Counter Hit and at Critical Level 2 so naturally I thought this would apply on a slippery surface too.
I haven't tested with Launchers yet though..... thats when I decided to look for a stun guide and create this thread. I need to know the properties of the stuns before I can build a strategy around it...
