Tekken

Point taken!:) But if they used more polygons, wouldn't the stages have to be less detailed? That would be alot of taxing processing power, which could be why TN has somewhat bad stage textures. Tekken has less character polygons, which allows them to focus on creating very realistic and detailed stages that surpass DOA5's. I see it as an eye for an eye type of thing.

Oh, here is a current look at how Lucky Chloe looks since her debut. The ponytails still look somewhat angular, but hair and cloth look alot better than when she was first unveiled.:) Also, her hair has better hit detection, and no longer clips through her shoulders....I love Lucky Chloe^-^~♡

Well, her model is the exact same in these pictures, the lighting is just different and the image quality is better...thus she looks slightly better too.
But, yes, Tekken 7's backgrounds do look really nice! :) I'm especially impressed by the jungle stage. The rain forest looks so dense, lush and detailed.
But I would be seriously disappointed, if the current generation consoles weren't able to render games with nice stages and nice characters at the same time. :/ It should actually be possible... Look at Final Fantasy XV for example. It manages to render 4 beautifully detailed character models with over 100k polygons, as well as good looking NPCs, dozens of small and huge monsters and a big open-world environment. Why shouldn't a fighter with a small, enclosed stage and only two visible character models look at least this good?

(sorry again, PS4 screens are always blurry.)

Also the animations in FFXV are probabaly the best in any video game yet. But shouldn't a fighter naturally be the best? It's all about the characters and their fluent movement while fighting in this type of games.
And in the case, that it really isn't possible at all for Tekken 7's graphic engine, to handle nice characters and nice stages, I personally preferred it, if the stages looked a little worse and the characters looked a little better. :( As I said, the characters should be the focus in fighting games.

Those Final fantasy graphics are beautiful! No game at the moment could look better than that! Are they using an engine, or a from scratch engine? If it's their own engine, it must have taken a year or so to make their graphics look that perfect....not one glitch or clipping for miles! But in a fighting game, physics, detail, and textures on the character model affect how fast and smooth the game runs. That's why Tekken 6 ran so smoothly, because the models and backgrounds weren't as detailed at the time. But in TTT2, They went all out and significantly improved the models and stages. As a result, the game has longer loading times, runs less smoothly, and the resolution drops Slightly when more than two playable fighters are on the screen to prevent overload. And if I'm not mistaken, wings and other animated customization items can actually cause the game to lag somewhat. This isn't the case for non fighting games like Final fantasy and GTA. But it takes a few years to make graphics look that good and perfect.

They're supposedly using an in-house engine called the Luminous engine. I don't know what it does, but damn... It makes games look beautiful.

It does! The game is breathtaking! ^-^ What makes it even more impressive is that the game engine is developed by the company themselves. They didn't rely on any major engines that all the other games are using. Unreal Engine is what everyone is using right now.

These infinite, weirdly rotating stages looks so bad. D: I wonder, if there really is no other way, to accomplish an infinity effect.
Apparently some body hasnt heard of infinity stages or the reasons why tag 1, since it the same reason nobody plays Dojo.

This is a different game meaning not pertaining to fighting games and it went through development hell, so why are we talking about this game again.
