Point taken! But if they used more polygons, wouldn't the stages have to be less detailed? That would be alot of taxing processing power, which could be why TN has somewhat bad stage textures. Tekken has less character polygons, which allows them to focus on creating very realistic and detailed stages that surpass DOA5's. I see it as an eye for an eye type of thing.

Oh, here is a current look at how Lucky Chloe looks since her debut. The ponytails still look somewhat angular, but hair and cloth look alot better than when she was first unveiled. Also, her hair has better hit detection, and no longer clips through her shoulders....I love Lucky Chloe^-^~♡
Well, her model is the exact same in these pictures, the lighting is just different and the image quality is better...thus she looks slightly better too.
But, yes, Tekken 7's backgrounds do look really nice!
But I would be seriously disappointed, if the current generation consoles weren't able to render games with nice stages and nice characters at the same time. :/ It should actually be possible... Look at Final Fantasy XV for example. It manages to render 4 beautifully detailed character models with over 100k polygons, as well as good looking NPCs, dozens of small and huge monsters and a big open-world environment. Why shouldn't a fighter with a small, enclosed stage and only two visible character models look at least this good?

(sorry again, PS4 screens are always blurry.)
Also the animations in FFXV are probabaly the best in any video game yet. But shouldn't a fighter naturally be the best? It's all about the characters and their fluent movement while fighting in this type of games.
And in the case, that it really isn't possible at all for Tekken 7's graphic engine, to handle nice characters and nice stages, I personally preferred it, if the stages looked a little worse and the characters looked a little better.
