Or she's just scratching her knee...
On another note, I finally got The Witcher 3 (at a Black Friday sale). Which was long overdue, since open world fantasy RPGs are among my most favorite genre of games. The gameplay is certainly great. One of the best Western RPGs ever made, as most of the reviews out there will tell you too. I was however disappointed by the visuals...

Most of all of the pure technical aspect. Overall the game looks pretty and very atmospheric. But on a closer look there's a lot of bad texturing, low polygon models and pop ins and outs of these. The level of detail drops fast just a few feet away. Also some effects like bodies of water or rain do look kinda bad. In this regard it perfoms visibly worse than other open world games this generation on console, like Batman Arkham Knight or even GTA V (PS4) or the still very unoptimized demo of FFXV Duscae. In the Witcher's big medieval city of Novigrad the framerate is just as bad as in Duscae...even after lotsa patches. Imo the Witcher sometimes just looks like a slightly nicer PS3/Xbox360 game. Like a more color saturated, warmer Skyrim in HD maybe.
Here some quick screens that I did today. Remember, I can't help but take pictures that let a game look it's very best, so you won't see any of the ugly stuff:

By the way, this is how the game was initially intended to look like, before the significant graphical downgrade (that the whole internet was raging over) had to be made on consoles
and PC:
Well, maybe on the PS5 then.
