I'm not a fan of the episodic thing either, but I have no idea how it will work out in the end. I'm not gonna go crazy and jump to conclusions. I just hope the game itself turns out good.

Ideally episode 1 will consist entirely of a super fleshed out Midgar, the main meat of the game is Avalnche freedom fighting the shit out of Shinra including new mini-bosses, you meet awesome new NPCs that you grow attached to, the final boss are the Turks who are significantly buffed up to legitimate boss status, which finally end in everyone you grew to care about dying as the plate drops down

Just make everyone Aerith.

There will apparently also be a tropical region in FFXV with ocean and palm trees:

so yeah im trying again to beat FF7 before the remake comes out and oh boy im getting more and more concerned and ive yet even get done with Midgar because ive noticed something, the attitudes arent just lighter they're downright cartoonish

im sitting at the screen where Cloud is yelling at the cursor above his head, teaching children limit breaks, and showing flexing men how to fight. i dont know how much of his old personality they can keep without doing a complete overhaul.

Got to talk with Tom Lee very briefly today about Dissidia and TN in general and learned a couple of things (I let him know just how excited I am about the game).
Probably the most important and surprising thing about Dissidia is that TN was approached by Square to make the game and TN has complete control of the project, Square is the mothership but TN is the crew and machines inside it. I thought this was the most surprising and best bit of info I learned.

The villains are coming but may be coming one at a time. He didn't give me dates or a final cast but it sounded like it will be something of one update after another for arcades.

If you ever see this, Thanks Tom! Looking forward to talking with you again.

I did not. I wanted to but Tom is incredibly good with NDAs. I made a joke about possible TN projects and he just laughed at me.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake has been one of the most hotly anticipated titles since it was announced at E3 this year, and even more so after all the new information we received at PlayStation Experience.

Now in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation, producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Tetsuya Nomura have shared even more details on the upcoming game. The information comes via Siliconera.

  • The game will be fully-voiced for the most part, and there’s going to be a new voice cast for any characters that didn’t have dialogue in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
  • The “dating event” will likely be fully-voiced, as it was quoted “we can’t just not voice that part.”
  • The reproduction of original events will be done carefully, as social situations on certain things were different back in the day. For example the bath house scene at the Honey Bee Inn.
  • Square Enix won’t focus on the world map being considered an open-world or sandbox. However, they would like to have some kind of environment that can have a character’s action influence what happens in the background.
  • They want to have all the mini-games that still remain in the memories of the fans. There was a variety of big and small mini-games in the original game, but they’re currently testing out whether they should all be redone with the latest technology.
  • Its current development status is at a stage where they can say that they were finally able to get started.
  • We won’t see another information update on the Final Fantasy VII Remake until Square Enix is done with Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue and World of Final Fantasy.
  • Hidden events that were not included within the original due to hard placement and development time, likely to add downloadable content such as Sephiroth and the Turks.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently in development for PlayStation 4. Previously we found out that the game couldn’t possibly fit into one part without cutting content, causing it to be split into multiple parts. We also found out that the development team would be receiving assistance from the Kingdom Hearts team.

I heard it's been getting worked on since before the announcement of the ps4 port last year. Not sure what the benchmark is for 'we finally got started,' if it's only what we saw in the trailer or what.

Isn't the whole game technically dlc in that you're paying for pieces of it at a time

Maybe something that ties in Crisis Core and the mobile game where you play as the Turks (old one in JP regions).
