Team Ninja confirms more character announcements post launch and secret unlockable characters

As I mentioned in another thread, I understand that the casuals need something to do, and unlocking things is a good way to fill that need. My main complaint is that I don't care about the story, I don't care about time attack, survival or anything along those lines, and I don't want to unlock characters.

In the worst case scenario, at least let me unlock characters through training mode or VS/online play. It's just an exercise in frustration when I'm forced to play single player modes to unlock characters. It's literally the ONLY time I ever play these modes, but I can spend 5 hours a day in training mode.

I really doubt that. Every strategy guide ever has included secret characters, and that includes all the other DOA guides. Besides, it doesn't really make sense to have an in-depth guide and not include every character in the game.
Fun Fact: the DOA Dimensions guide has zero mention of Shiden. Not that most people would know that. I'm probably the only person here who owns the guide.

Regarding unlocking items, I think a button code at the title screen or something that unlocks all the gameplay specific stuff (characters, stages) and disables achievements would be best for tournament organizers.

Something else they could do is, when someone starts the game up for the frist time(and ONLY the first time), it would ask the player if they want unlockable content or not. If they do, then everything that's normally unlockable has to be unlocked. If not, the game automatically unlocks everything for you, so you can just jump right in. Characters, stages, accessories, costumes, etc.

Lol. Dont think we will see anyone from NG, except that old man.
Muramasa?
Anyway, talking about Momiji, with 4 ninjas is more than enough, it would be nice if she were on Hayabusa's story, but no as a playable character.
Also, with the unlockables, they should do the same as DOAU, that after 100 hours of gameplay everything would be unlocked ( because I spend more time on Practice mode than in the other modes.)

I pray for the day Blazeincarnated stops with the Leon/Momiji stuff. Dude, they're NOT in the game. You'll have 23 great characters to choose from.

Well, to be fair, no one has confirmed that Leon ISN'T in the game. Momiji, yeah, not happening. At least, not on release. But Leon might be an unlockable.

I don't have... TOO much of a problem with Leon or Ein being omitted so much as Alpha being in the game who's essentially a Kasumi clone and a 5TH ninja at that. Both Leon and Ein are more differentiated from Bayman and Hitomi than Alpha from Kasumi, as well as both being better characters. Why is she getting a spot in the game and they get the boot? Because of the story? Since when has story taken precedence over gameplay in a fighting game?

To be fair, if you have to fight Alpha in the story mode, her model and move list would be complete. It would take minimal effort to make her playable. To include Leon or Ein, they'd have to create a new model and update their move lists. It would be considerably more work. I'm sure if Team Ninja had time, they'd include everyone, but that's never the case with game development.

True enough, but in the case of Leon and Ein, both characters have essentially the exact same body build as their counterparts (Bayman/Hayate, not 100% sure about Leon-Bayman), so I don't see as much work needing to be done as you might think (as far as character modeling goes), naturally still a good deal of work but not exactly from scratch.

I still hope to see them at least as DLC a bit further down the road if they don't magically pop up come release day.

I am really not a fan of having to play certain things to unlock players, costumes and stages, it really is such a pain in the ass especially since I am one of those people who likes to have everything for everyone even if I don't play them

I'm fairly positive sometime eventually after DOA5 comes out, Leon and Ein will appear as free DLC for the game(since the devs dislike paying for extra characters) if they're not already in and we don't know. Well, I'm not TOO positive about Ein, since he was supposed to be the virtual incarnation of Itagaki or something, and Itagaki is gone now.
Still, it would be an impossibly stupid move not to include ANYONE as a playable character. Team Ninja is forcing themselves against Tekken Tag 2, which has every character from every Tekken ever. DOA5 should be doing the same, and them some. Ein, Tengu, Raidou, Leon, Alpha-152, Genra, hell even bring back Kasumi-Alpha and make Irene do some fighting.

This site has confirmed him as not in the game. Of course Team Ninja's official stance is to not comment on rumors and speculation but we do have evidence pointing towards Leon being removed early in the game's development.
