Meeting Hayashi, IGN tourney, and info on i46

ok guys ..Met with Hayashi... spent almost all day with him.
no Ein or Leon ..

He has not confirmed it .. but he kinda smirked when i said alpha and said its a "secret i cant tell you"..and he laughed when I said there really isn't anyone else left anyway.... so....
last character is alpha ..

I told him that Leon is very important for the series and alot of people in FSD share this opinion ...
and he said he will send this feedback to the team ...
he said but Leon has no story ...
I said .. well there is his relation with bayman .. and his relation with zack .. they were never explained.
Then I said you can easily make it so Donovan killed Roland... there.. instant story ! He said thats a very good idea actually.

Almost everyone at the event pestered him about Ein. and then he said isnt Hayate basicly Ein? I said Exactly thats why making him would be so easy ! just use the same model... then I went around saying also .. u can simply use baymans body and give him leon's head .. Problem solved! lol.

I asked him about the Chance for DLC and he said the game is still not gone gold but the main concentration of DLC will be focused on external stuff like costumes etc. but He will leave the games ability open for DLC characters. When asked about Tengu ... he flat out told me .. Does anyone even like him ? lol I told him its fun to have him and it feels good to win with him. but Honestly from his vibe it seems very unlikely that tengu would make it. Ein and Leon may have a slightly better chance .. but not in the near future it seems as the first batch of DLCs will be peripheries .

I also talked to him about a DOAxVF and I told him that this sort of game has a lot of following amongst both the pros and casuals... and he kinda agreed.. and he kinda said that he would like to explore that more ... now this doesn't confirm anything but it seems that they may actually be looking into it ..(I sure fucking hope so)

I also spoke with him about the hold recovery. I explained how short holds will reset the situation far too quickly and it will ruin the offensive potential. I also explained that longer hold recovery keeps the player in stun allowing better offense ..
He argued that if he did that they would probably need to boost hold damage again otherwise no1 would use them. I said that this is not the case. and that in fact the E3 build had the weakened holds PLUS the long recovery from the alpha build and people (including top players) were still holding just fine. and I confirmed that a lot of the top players here including the FSD community agree that this was the ideal place for holds. He took the feed back and he said I will return to shinbori with it.

I also gave him one of the custom cubes ^__^ and gave him another one to give to Shinbori.

I spent a good amount of time with him at the event Hes such a nice guy to hang out with.

sadly the tournament itself was utter shit ...one big fucking joke.
it was a single elimination best of 1 !!! and on pad all the way to the semis... so by the time Rev and I made it to the semis we were pretty mind fucked to use sticks again lol .. Messy won with Jann Lee (knocked me out) , 2nd place an Eliot player (sorry i dont know his name .. he knocked rev out)...Rev was messing with Zack ... I was bouncing around between Sarah, Leifang and Ayane throughout the tournament. Sadly there was no fucking footage because they would not allow us to shoot any video only photos!!! seriously WTF.

It was good for the casual aspect I suppose .. but the REAL uk tournament with REAL STANDARD rules will be at i46. Double elim, best out of 3. finals best out of 5.
And just to confirm again, it WILL be the GAMESCOM build. and NOT the E3 build as stated a month ago.
For now the tournament will be 32 man unless there is more people that would like to enter it can go up to 64 or even 128.
On friday and saturday there will be mini tournaments just to see the general level of the players in order to make the seeding alot more fair. I will personally be in charge of the DOA5 event throughout the 3 days.
The prizes will include, I'm a fighter T-shirt, I'm a fighter Bling necklace, a Custom Cube, and Signed poster by Hayashi himself (will upload photos of these when I get the chance).
Also, there will be a live stream and hopefully commentary by myself (when I'm not playing lol)

So.. from hearing what he told you and especially with all these random excuses ("BUT.. he has no story!".."BUT.. you guys have Hayate to play with!"), it seems that Leon and Ein are not in the game at all. I would be surprised to see them in September.

Anyway, it would have been a pleasure to meet some of these guys (especially Shimbori-san hihihi), hope you enjoyed it and took your revenge with your stick after the MCM London Expo.

Ps : Will you make custom cubes again when Helena's render will be released ?

Shinbori was not at the event. He is in Japan.

Also, Leon and Ein are NOT in .. I am pretty much confirming to everyone that the last character is Alpha-152

I can't believe people are still bugging them about Ein and Leon, you have perfectly valid alternatives for them. As a Tengu player there's nothing like that for me in DOA5 but I got over it pretty quickly. Just move on and please stop trying to get them to go Crapcom's route with character DLC. I'd like at least a somewhat complete game on the disc.

The event was really good fun and even though I was slightly disappointed on how the tournament was run, I still pretty much enjoyed myself while I was there. I've got quite a few things that I got at the event lool and it was really good to see people that I know again. It was really cool to see Team Ninja at the event and I've got a fewDOA/NG stuffs that got signed by Hayashi. (Shimbori wasn't at the event Kwon)

DOA5 is looking and it plays very solid!! In fact, I am loving the game at the moment and I simply am looking very forward to Next Month!!

OPPAN GANGNAM STYLE! YES!!! LOL I totally want to do that with Chin...Emperor! I'm /jelly! Well, maybe something will happen with Ein and Leon, but yeah, it looks like their basically gone for now and Tengu will be missed. I thought Tengu was fun to play every once in a while, but he does make a point that hardly anyone played him seriously or even liked him at all. There's always DLC much later on if they decide to or DOA6.

Ok, while I understand that it takes time, resources and money for all this, I really feel like Ein, Leon and Tengu wouldn't be that difficult to put in. Ein can use Hayate's model and already has a moveset just adjust it for DOA5 standards.
Leon can basically use a slightly altered Bayman model and also has his own moveset and can even borrow shit from Spartan to help.
Tengu would IMO take the most work with a brand new model, but then you have his move set already, so just bump him up to DOAU2 standards to make him viable again and viola! our three characters have returned!

They needed a boss character. She wouldn't have made it in over Leon or Ein, she requires nowhere near the amount of resources they would.

I could argue that I don't recall the boss in MK having to be playable...Also, I don't see how Alpha 152 would take any more resources than Ein at least... Ein=Hayate model Alpha 152=Kasumi model.

Really man .. it was a sad excuse for a tournament. they should have just left it as casuals...

Those stupid locked up devkits with the stationary pads are the shittiest thing to play anything on ...Im surprised I even reached that far with all the fucking wrong inputs i was doing ... and there was no way in hell i could do advanced holds or even properly free cancel on pad ...

it was a complete and utter mess..

they kept saying .. reach top 4 then we'll let you play stick...
they have no fucking grasp that you need a fucking warm up and the early tournament matches serve this purpose ..besides, its not like there was a prize or anything ...hell I couldn't even button check warm up .. i just did my settings and barged straight into the match ...a best of 1 single elim ... it was pathetic...

They said they would ship me a copy of the game for placing 3rd.. I have the fricken CE on preorder anyway .. LOL
the whole event was run on XBOX and messy won the PS3 version of the DOA stick.. he was like ... what the hell am I gonna do with this ? he didnt take it ... they said they will try and sort him with an XBOX version ..

But I gave the top players sexy cubes ... lol they seemed happy with that so I'm glad

Ein would require new costumes, his own animations and moves updated to DOA5 engine vs Alpha who is already completed (as she's part of the plot) and would only require balancing.

Guys at NRS didn't feel like balancing boss characters. They were made playable in the Vita version, in the tower mode.

Never let "reviewers" tell you how good a game is... I learned this by playing Godhand. Most review sites give scores based off of everything but the game, IMO.
And, do people still watch xplay? I used to love Tech TV, but man G4 has really brought it down. Again, IMO.

That sucks..Leon was a boss and said f all these fairies(Ninjas) that I crush and I am Warrior.(He was a fighter before all this ad mess.)

Bayman from what we've seen is a shell of who he was and lost his beret and from what we seen he was watching Helena and is gaining feelings for her.(He will more than likely cry to Helena that he is sorry and made a mistake and has fallen in love with her. (Should change his name to Bayby.)

Ein is not even Hayate's name and was given to him by some master and the master could have named him after his old student/friend that he looked like.(How hard is it to have a dude that looks like Hayate and not even retconned with the name not even having much reason to why he has it in first place.) You can have Hayate thinking in the story to himself that he was cloned , the other ninja's thinking that he lost his memory again , and Hitomi being as confused as everyone else.(He could enter the tournament and not have been interested in it before or wasn't ready for it in the past and trained far away to up his style.)
