All this keeps telling me is that this seriously should not have been rushed for 60$...
Sorry, had to say that again...

rushed for 60$ or held back for 60$ its all the same to me. then again im an abnormally uncritical individual so i guess maybe i shouldn't be the metric.

ill admit it should have been held back till march business wise, but ill never agree with those who call them lazy or immoral for not doing so. this early release has really had no benefits for them, never could have, and only serves to make the people like me happy. i feel bad for them i honestly do.

The game wasn't $60 though if you were savvy enough to buy third party. I got a legit Steam copy for under $40. Now if you spent like $90 on the PS4 version and have to pay extra for online then yeah I feel bad for you

Anyway it's just beating a dead horse at this point, all we can do is wait for more content. Hopefully Capcom learned their lesson

Lol, what?! XD Capcom isn't some charitable organistion, they are a company and they wanted your money, they wanted it quick and they perfectly well knew they could get it from you (and other hardcore gamers) without much complaining. Congratz to them! They got that right! ;)
They figured it would suit themselves best if they released the game at this point in time (punctual for their upcoming tournament) and in the state that it was, even if they screwed over the casuals and they also knew perfectly well that the casuals would feel screwed over and some backlash was definitely coming. They are pros for many years and they must have figured that they will get away with it in the long run. It's still much too early to say if they really did or didn't. Maybe they really do...but maybe they miscalculated things. That sometimes happens with humans too, even if they are pros. ;)

But I agree, they are not lazy, they are not dumb and they are not evil (even if that is sometimes hard to believe) but they are also not benevolent, they are capitalist!

I agree with this but they should've at least added a fucking arcade mode like that's the easiest shit you could do in a fighting game.

Also do you have SFV now???

Aww...you quoted me too fast. I did some little edits... :/ Also that was not really a speech in their defence. XD But yes, I got the game and all objectivity put by side, I, as the casual I am, feel totally screwed by them! D:

Atleast make it like DOA5LRCF or make it a BETA for tourney players till June...

I feel like this describes some of the behavior in this thread.

Stockholm syndrome
is a psychological phenomenon described in 1973 in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness.

Stockholm syndrome can be seen as a form of traumatic bonding, which does not necessarily require a hostage scenario, but which describes "strong emotional ties that develop between two persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other." One commonly used hypothesis to explain the effect of Stockholm syndrome is based on Freudian theory. It suggests that the bonding is the individual's response to trauma in becoming a victim. Identifying with the aggressor is one way that the ego defends itself. When a victim believes the same values as the aggressor, they cease to be perceived as a threat.

In marketing and psychology we also call this Cognitive Dissonance. Example: You bought a product and it doesn't fulfill your needs, to not feel bad about yourself for being tricked you basically lie to yourself and make up excuses for the product/the company that betrayed your trust. It's a fairly common. phenomenon...but even more prominent in video game business where many people develop a very strong bond to a console or video game company or game series, aka fanboys. ;)

Pretty much what I had before last year when I got a Wii u instead of a ps4 and no one was releasing anything for it. I really want this game though but I'm holding off from buying it until I see improvements in certain areas.

Similar to me and the Wii. ;) I always was a loyal Nintendo customer and I tried my very best to still be when I got the Wii even though I hated (strong word but true!) the motion controlling, even though I was very disappointed by it's graphics and even though it lacked third party support. I still defended Nintendo in front of others and in front of myself. I was even going to buy the WiiU. I didn't just because I was low on funds around it's release. After the months passed I grew more and more disenchanted with Nintendo and it's direction. When the new Zelda never arrived I completely gave up on that console. Wow, Zelda is still not there... When the Nintendo NX is out and the WiiU drops significantly in price I might still buy it though...just to play Zelda, Smash Bros and Xenoblade. ;)
With other companies/consoles I was a lot more objective. Even though I got each Xbox I said enough is enough when my Xbox360 died a second time and when they marketed the Xbone as this always online media center. Good riddance and I am actually very glad with my PS4. Or I might be unconciously lying to myself, lol. I do sometimes wish the PS4 was a little more powerful when I see those beautiful PC graphics...

Come on, he didn't mean it like that. He never called you a liar. Also, unconsciously lying to oneself is something entirely different than purposely lying to others. It's perfectly normal behaviour and we all do it all the time. ;) I'm not a psychologist but I had to take courses in psychology when studying marketing and communication and what's going on with Street Fighter V right now is actually very relevant to marketing, communication and psychology.
Stockholm Syndrom is a little off the mark, lol, but what I wrote about Cognitive Dissonance fits it very well. Not saying you are affected by it...but I'm fairly sure many of the hardcore/competitive Street Fighter 5 players actually are, when they defend STV to their death and even go as far saying things like: "I never play arcade/versus CPU/storymode and I'm glad it's not in. Casuals/scrubs can f*** off!" I came across this quite often in the last couple of weeks and that's not just being delusional and defending crappy company practices but being mean and contemptuous.

...ANYWAY,

I was playing the beta and I didn't know who I should focus more on, Karin or Mika? Is there anyone that plays SF know which character would be a better choice for me, a beginner who can never get the hang of this game?

I was having more fun with Mika but I tend to levitate towards grapplers so I may have a bias there. I felt like I had an easier time keeping opponents off of me with Mika and the few times I could get something in, she got me more damage. If you always went for someone more quick-hitting then go for Karin honestly but that's my impression as a fellow newb finding his footing.

I was being purposely obtuse (also plain honest) to illustrate a lot of information and concepts fighting game players take for granted aren't explained elsewhere to the average person. You (and many others) are unable to comprehend this.

What post are even you responding to?

so ive started messing around more with Laura thanks to this

lost pretty much every fight i had with her in comparison to my super scrubby Bison which is 50/50, but i had a lot of fun matches regardless. due to her main tools being dash type attacks her range feels a lot different than im used to.

Very likely tomorrow. :) They promised it for this week and Friday is probably a good time, so people can go hyped into the weekend. XD
