That place looks amazing, like some lost metropolis or something! I'm guessing its uninhabited with all the vegetation that's covering it.

No no, it's a living, breathing city with inhabitants. :) It's Luna's home city. there are no people in the gif because it's taken from pre-beta footage. There are a lot of trees missing too. If you look at the ground of the valley there are just green, flat textures at the moment.

Oh wow I'm actually surprised by that since there always seems to be a part in every FF game where you explore an uninhabited city area so I thought that would be XV's.
I'm happy its not though since it will be much more interesting as a living area. I'm even more excited to see it now.

Also is Tenebrae the name of the city or the country?

Both? XD This location is called Tenebrae Valley.
By the way, there are still about 50% of regions and cities of the game world unrevealed claimed Tabata recently. The Gameinformer guys that visited the studio for a week too said they saw some more cool stuff that so far wasn't shown to the public yet.

They talked about this and lots of other things in a two hour long podcast:

I actually watched the whole thing yesterday night, lol, but I probably forgot most of the stuff so I can't really give you guys a good summary.

And still no gameplay of them driving the car! I swear I just need to see it. I'm not expecting crazy GTA driving and running over people but I want to see just how much control the player has.

Speaking of GTA I had seriously the weirdest bloody dream ever last night. I was a character in first person in a bar in the world of XV with the characters and suddenly I was talking to Vanilla from XIII who transported me into a strange crossover with Trevor from GTA V! :\

You didn't watch the first Gameinformer podcast did you? They didn't show manual car driving but they explained it in detail. Apparently the car is very much drawn to the roads. You can go off-road and you can even wreck the car due to too much damage but handling is best on the roads. They compared it to Roach in The Witcher 3. It has this great auto-riding function along the roads and also feels a bit sluggish out in the wilderness, stopping at each stone and branch in the way. Also enemies can't be hurt by driving over them with the car. ;)

Oh yeah actually I remember you saying something like that before... Oops!

I think I remember back in a very old gameplay trailer when they first showed Chocobo there was a dirt road. So I'm guessing you couldn't literally just cut right across Duscae or whatever but there will be side roads and back roads etc. Okay well that wound fine. I'm actually just really looking forward to driving around listening to FF music and looking at the characters interact and the environment. Also I liked when they stopped on the cliffs and saw wildlife on the cliffs below like the world really is just full of life! :)

Oh... I had the volume muted

EDIT: listened to with audio this time, to be fair Sunleth Waterscape is a REALLY good track.

Yeah it really is! I thought from the start that FFXIII had a great soundtrack but its when I got to the Sunleth Waterscape that I truly realised just how amazing it was.

Agree, it's also such a beautiful location, it's a shame you can't go back there :C

Yeah, it was good to go back in XIII-2 as well. And like someone said a while ago FFXIII-LR is like "greatest hits" and had songs from the whole trilogy. I really hope XV soundtrack has the same affect that FFXIII's had.
