For me it seems like a remake of the cathedral of SC2. But I guess is something new.
And talking about remaking old stages, I would love to see this stage in a new SC game.

I'd love a remake or completey new stages in the vein of SC3. Those stages are by far the most impressive in the series. They ooze of atmosphere. And I never got to play them! D:

And so many more, but I can't find good images of such an old game. :/

Forgotten Cathedral was the most epic thing back in those days, and the music was just perfect.

Toledo Burning Gallery was my favorite, the music and stage was so epic....and don't even get me started on Taki's SC3 stage underground sanctum, god that stage and music was godly!♡

Lol well follow your heart I guess because I certainly hope that after all this time we finally see something.

Also when it comes to stages I'd love to see the return of SC4 stages too since I think that game had quite a few good ones.

I always felt SC 5 had some of the weakest stages. Some were really pretty like the forest or Ivy's mansion and that Chinese harbor city (don't remember what it was called), but SC 4 had far more impressive and imaginative ones. And of the whole series Soul Calibur 3 stood out in stage design. You can see some of them here:

That reminds me: We need to get the weapon exhibitions back! This would be so amazing in today's graphics. *__*

Yeah I wonder why they got rid of the weapon exhibitions? SC3 really has amazing stages though so if they brought them back then I'd be happy with that. In today's graphics they'd look great! :)

I like the ones that are very bright and have lots of open space.

They need to remake them, I liked them in SC2 but SC3 basically just reused the older ones, the newer characters like Setsuka had very short ones that were total teases. XD I want them to bring back the shopkeepers, the store was my favorite thing about SC3.

Haha, was wondering about the architecture of the stage too... XD It was already used as a background of the tournament graphic. I think it is a new design.

It does remind me most of the following stage:

SC5:

But it is still different. Other slightly similar stages in design are:

SC3:

SC4:

But it is none of those either...
Is this a good sign? :)
New design? Could this be a hint at the future?

Wow Kasumi these avatars are getting more and more crazy lol!

And yeah the shops and the shopkeepers would be really cool to bring back in the next game now since they added to the game.

They need to literally add everything from SC2 and SC3 back then, that was when the series was best imo. SC4 and SC5 went the tower route where fighting people and earning stuff was less exciting and more repetitive.

Yeah the route wasn't close to as fun to do as the modes in SC3 were so I'd
Like to see them return. I hope they also have new ideas for modes and stuff that are also interesting.

In SC5 I ended up using the turbo button trick to level up for items in the grinding mode. It was nice to just tape the button down and watch tv or something until everything was unlocked and I could actually play the game without enduring that dull mode.

This stage always stuck in my head because of the beautiful painting of Ivy on the wall.

I think this was the reference they used, I knew it looked familiar

But for the love of God, please give of SCVI soon. We're in the longest gap between mainline SC games and it hasn't even been announced yet.

I am pretty sure they are working on a Soul Calibur, all signs are pointing to that...the only question is when will they announce it? Tekken 7 does unfortunately play a big part in this because it is the direct in-house rival of SC. They won't announce them too close too each other and they won't release them too close to each other to not cannibalize each other in attention or sales. If Tekken 7 finally comes out at the beginning of 2017 we could have SC6 at the end of that year. They had new Tekkens and SCs releasing in the same year before just at least half a year apart. I think they might be doing it this time again. Since it is the 20th anniversary of the series this year I don't really doubt they will at least announce it anytime now until to December. It would be imo damaging to the brand not to and a stain on the series' legacy forever. But as I already mentioned, the only question is when will they break their silence. :/

It would be pretty cool as you said if the tournament was for SCVI at Gamescom. Imagine the applause it'd get at the reveal if it went something like this:

"Now, onto our next game. We know it's been a while since we've shown anything regarding one of your favorite fighting games, but here we are today to present something we've been working on for a long time. Something that wouldn't have been possible without your help! We asked you to choose who your favorite fighter was last year to determine the best possible roster, and then we asked again to determine who you wanted to see most, all of it was leading up to this. The two finalists of the tournament are here to determine whose soul burns brighter. Without further ado, I present to you the new Soulcalibur!"

The crowd cheers

The screen behind the presenter shows Siegfried and Taki in enhanced Unreal Engine graphics, both the stage and the characters show stunning detail in their new costumes in a cathedral stage similar to the one in the background. They do their intros with each other:

"Stand aside, or die. That is your choice." - Siegfried
"Don't take any of this personally." - Taki

Then they engage in battle. The fight is close, each showing off new moves and their critical edges. After a hard-fought match, Taki is the winner. She does her outro:

"You fought well. Now, onto my next objective! *does the teleportation spell and disappears*"

The screen turns black, before a logo shoots on to the screen with the announcer proudly yelling "Soulcalibur VI!" and then text follows saying "Coming 2017".

The crowd goes wild, and gamers do too.
