Cramming all DoA5 posts in one forum doesn't seem to me like the most effective way to create an informative structure. I wonder if when the game is released we'll have better organized solutions like the character specific and otherwise topic-specific forums on TYM and 8WR.

I wonder if when the game is released we'll have enough varied content to deserve a whole board dedicated to a character.

Why not make a Helena character thread and start from there? That way people can't hide in their own character forum and miss your bitching completely?

Lol I sense sarcasm.

An off topic section would be nice though. idm the sub forums right now so much.

There is an off topic section in General Discussion. Anime, chess, youtube vids...plenty of randomness in there.

EDIT: Sniped! Goddamn you Sorwah.

@Mr. Wah is right in that until we actually have what to fill sub-boards with, it's not entirely necessary. But it certainly feels more professional if every character can have its own organized section with a "combos threat" "video threat" "strategy thread" "sewing thread" "shootyouinthethread" and it's not like subforums do anything negative - or anything other than keeping things nice and clean.
I only suggested this because if somebody joins sometime a year after the game's release, they'll have 200-something pages of "DoA5 Discussion" to wade through to find out about a string they are looking for...

Agreed. We really don't need them now, but once the game is out, the DOA5 Discussion board may get flooded with tons of random topics about specific character strings, move properties, etc. It'll look very trashy. It'd be nice to have character specific forums like they do at the Smash Boards.

Ohhh jeez. I can only imagine how crazy this board is going to get. I mean we get one new photo and there are 80+ members online all posting. I come back after an hour and i miss so much, but im all OCD so i have to read all the messages, so i dont have to worry about missing anything.

I dunno whats up with the dick response, but I've been wondering this myself for a while. I don't want to make an "Official Jann Lee Thread" to try and cover everything thats going to be about Jann Lee. I mean, clicking through 98 pages of thread to find his top 10 moves or his best combo's doesn't exactly sound exciting to me. Not to mention discussions about how to play him, character match-ups, and so forth... I mean, I know people are basically asking you to put in more work, but I didn't expect you to get all up in arms about it.

Ugh. That will be so annoying. Not to mention all the series of random off-topic posts that would no doubt surface in all of those threads.

lol I'm kinda OCD too, I literally come onto the the site and have like 5-12 alerts and I end up opening 12 pages and read EVERYTHING lol, sometimes I skim through though if it's a bunch of crap that's been said 40000000times or I just don't care anymore, like the "remaining issues' thread. At this point I think we've known the remaining issues and have been told about counters and crap a million times, enough! lol

Well, if someone wanted the cliff's notes version, wouldn't that be helped by people keeping up with and maintaining the wiki section regarding the characters? Or perhaps have a site admin creating a DOA5 character guide section?

I wanted to suggest giving cool names to the combo threads of each character like for example naming Brad Wong's official combo thread "I'm going to party like it's 2099" but I dunno if people will like the idea.
