The English voice actors of Final Fantasy XV:

Very cool video! I liked the new snippets we see of Lunafreya in there. :)

The English cast is mostly alright. I do think Prompto (especially), Regis, Ardyn and Noctis do a good job. Ignis (especially) and Gladio feel for me personally too different to their Japanese characters though. So, even if they deliver their lines well, I'm not really content with them. Gladio sounds too gruff and tough all the time, when he sounds actually more lighthearted and not nearly as monotone in Japanese and Ignis feels too snobbish to me. The kind of accent he has just brings all these stereotypical British snob characters to my mind. I'm glad he's addressing Noctis with "Noct" and not "Your Highness" anymore though.
Lunafreya and Cor feel a bit weak to me, just from the snippets that I've heard so far.
I will definitely be playing with the Japanese voices. I won't even try out the German voices because I know they will suck. Germany is usually very good at voice acting. Much better than Americans for example because we dub literally every foreign film or series for our market. Like in Japan, voice actors are in big demand here and they can make a good living from it. But video games, especially Japanese ones, do mostly get the crappy anime series treating. They are miles away from the quality that foreign movies or series are dubbed in. :/

That was good to watch, I like the voice actors so far though I hope Gladio is able to be emotional because when people voice characters in that really gruff voice the character usually comes off like they are really emotionless. I'll be using the English but I can understand when you'd use the Japanese voices.

Those English voices are quite fine, I've heard much worse voice acting xD.
As I thought, the one I "like" the least is Ignis', not that I mind since I'm gonna use the Japanese ones anyway.

FFXV didn't just win the award for best RPG of Gamescom but now also, now after all votes have been counted, IGN's Gamescom People's Choice Award. :)

The game seems to be actually darn good...

Here's also a new IGN game preview:

"During the opening hours of Final Fantasy XIII, I put the controller down and vowed never to play another Final Fantasy again. I’d loved every installment since VII, and at 26, I suddenly felt too old, too tired, to embark on what would surely be another 100-hour-plus adventure in another world with an angst-ridden story and, in this instance, an unexpected linearity that made my first few hours feel like something akin to being shoved down a really boring slide.

But Final Fantasy XV is something else. Its first few hours, at least, are fun. They suggest an explosion of ideas, a mishmash of cultures peppered with extraordinary detail and hilariously 'millennial' chutzpah from its quartet of characters..."

It's good to see that it's receiving praise from the reviewers though I wish I could play it, I actually enjoyed the first hours of XIII but then I enjoyed the whole game so oh well. ;)

I actually did enjoy XIII too. Except for a couple of characters...which I disliked very much. It was after I finished the game that it hit me how shallow, pointless and what sad excuse of a Final Fantasy the game actually was. I later played it a second time just because it was so pretty and you could easily fight on autopilot. XD

There was times when some of the characters annoyed me too so I can understand what your saying. XD And yeah there is times when you can fight on auto but for some fights I thought it was easier to have manual.

Autopiloting was something I liked. XD I could marvel at the beautifully choreographed fights with their gorgeous effects.
It was a good game...just a bad Final Fantasy...

For the same reasons that I was so disappointed in FFXIII, I already know I will be happy with FFXV (even if it turns out to be just good instead of great). It has that sense of wonder and exploration, the incredible love to detail, the more grounded but just as epic story and it has cities. I need cities in my RPGs... >__<

Do you guys remember when Square Enix seriously said next gen cities (now last gen) where too difficult and time consuming to build? OMG XD

No I actually liked the auto battle system as well seeing all the characters fighting and doing their own thing, Not to mention seting it up so that they did as much damage as quickly as possible. There was at least one fight though against a giant onion shaped creature in that white forest area where I had to manually attack with the most effective attack.

Also yeah the sense of exploration is so much more than XIII which is so great and I feel the same way about cities as well since It makes the world feel more alive. Did they really say they were to time consuming? Well It's good that if they did they are doing them anyway because XV is going to feel so much more alive and human because of having cities.

Yes, that was their answer when fans were complaining about the linearity of XIII and why there were no cities. It became a popular meme quickly afterwards. It was a pretty embarrassing to say...

The direct quote:
"The game's linearity was just because depicting towns and so on like we did before was impossible to do on an "HD" console – it was too much work."

I mean, technically were they lying? FFVXIII ended up getting completely scrapped for XV on PS4 and they STILL had to downgrade

Did you start playing The Witcher 3 yet? The cities in there are amazing, right @Jadeinchainsand @ShinobiGuy? They are huge, beautiful and full of life. CD Projekt Red and many other developers don't seem to have a problem with HD cities at all. It's really just Square Enix being lazy or incompetent. Or both... So they were taking us for fools with this statement.

The cities are definitely beautiful in the witcher 3 though I won't say to much since your getting it soon Grunt! :D
I'm not sure why they didn't have cities in XIII though it did fit the theme since they were on the run. I'm really happy though they have cities in XV and big ones at that from what we've seen so I just hope there's stuff to do in them.

Well, technically speaking, FFXIII has cities : Nautilus (it was laggy as hell here xD) and Palumpolum, sure you can't go back there, but they exist. Oh, and there's also Eden in CH12, even if it's actually a dungeon or something like this.

They are the same corridor levels just dressed up as cities. So technically they still aren't cities. ;)
