Some imo great and intriguing info about FFXV that Tabata mentioned in a Q&A on Gamescom today:

Q: Are we getting a great love story between Noctis & Luna?
A: We have included those themes but it'll be different to say Tidus & Yuna in FFX.
Luna is a strong modern woman & this comes across in her relationship with Noctis. She's a different kind of heroine to previous FF ones.

Someone in here asked about following thing before. I think it was @Jadeinchains and it will please him to know this:

Q: Is there any post game content?
A: I won't say too much but there's some areas (& monsters) you can only reach/fight once you beat the game.

In other news:
Speaking to IGN at Gamescom, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata explained that each of the episodes featuring a different party member will offer gameplay tailored to that character’s strengths and weaknesses.

“For example, with Gladio, we really want to push the action element and have a much higher level of action gameplay for his episode,” Tabata told IGN. “Final Fantasy, the way the game is structured, is about the idea of characters and levels, and as you level up your characters, you get stronger. That’s the logic by how you defeat harder enemies, by leveling up to a higher level than them."

"In an action game, you don’t have that," he continued. "It’s about how technically you play the game. All we need to do with the Gladio episode is have it close to that kind of gameplay. The idea behind that is not to make it a harder or more complex action game. It’s to give people the opportunity to enjoy controlling the character of Gladio in a more action format.”

“For Prompto, we’re going to focus on how he uses his gun and that kind of element of the gameplay, and have the systems slightly customized to work with that,” Tabata said. “And for Ignis, it’s going to focus on his tactical abilities and focus on a more tactical kind of gameplay.”

Oooh, good to know that there will be post game optional bosses and areas/dungeons. Wonder if there will be a New Game +, that's fairly common in most modern JRPGs now especially Tales

And I REALLY like the sound of Gladio's Episode... I'm definitely gonna have to get the Season Pass now, I think im getting a little excited for this game again.

Since the gameplay vid you made a sudden 180° turn regarding this game. What exactly changed for you?

Before I had majour doubts, didn't like alot of the changes and/or just was super anxious about the game.

But seeing the finalised game made me smile, it looks alot better and this DLC episode stuff sounds really good.

The framerate is still a problem though, the story itself is still a bit on the "iffy" side but the pros from what I can see currently outweigh the cons. Glad I decided to get the game after all

That's great to hear that there will be post game content, and I was worried it was going to be like XIII were it wasn't and it just pushed you back to before you finished the game. This though definitely seems to be an actual post game that takes place after the story with changes to the world.

I just hope they don't burn down any city or have huge plumes of black, ugly and low resolution smoke ruin the game world during the ending then... >__>

Majority of FF games weren't exactly too heavy with new game plus (unless you mean by that), as far for awareness, FFXV is the second FF I know so far with a requirement to beat the game first to fight special monsters with possibly special dungeons/locations with unique super bosses..probably even cameos from another world or FF game.

It's better that way anyway. I just hope it's bosses that are really hard or past fan favorites of bosses with really high difficulty regardless.

Cosplayers on Gamescom:

Some cosplayers sure are gutsy... ;)

Tabata secretly snuck up on fans playing the game at times to see their live reactions:

That's nice that he wanted to check out how people were playing the game, I'm surprised more people didn't notice him sooner though.

Lol, this is funny. XD A German angler and fishing magazine...

...was on the Gamescom to check out angling sims. They also paid the FFXV booth a visit since they heard it included an angler simulation too:

(from 5:56 on)

It is all in German but it is still pretty interesting because there is game footage of angling in the sea (the big gameplay vido only showed the Duscae lake).
The journalist was actually really impressed. He thought the angling sim was quite realistic (he recognized Noctis' kind of swing) and deep and he felt the developers passion for it. He was most impressed by the realistic depiction of the fishes and the close attention to detail. He instantly recognized and could name them. Tabata is later seen in the video and he is obviously pretty proud, cute lol. :)

Final Fantasy XV won the award for best RPG on Gamescom. :)

And the competition was pretty tough! In popularity among visitors and critics it outdid Pokemon Sun & Moon, Nier Automata, Persona 5, Dragon Quest Builders, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Kindgom Come: Deliverence, Southpark: Fractured But Whole etc.

Not a fan of fishing at all but that's cute that they had something to relate to each other over. The things like food and fish do have lots of detail and look amazing though so I'm not surprised he could tell what the different ones were.

Edit: I also wonder how many types of fish there will be since we've only seen a small bit, Is fishing only for food or is there other reasons as well?

It's said that Hajime Tabata (Director of FFVX after Nomura) is nearly working 24/7 on FFXV, related projects (like Kingsglaive) and promotion (like attending the whole week on Gamescom and that he's living quite unhealthy. :(

That's a shame. :( It seems like a lot of Japanese video game developers and just Japanese people in general have very demanding jobs that make them very tired. Don't they have them pod hotels so that they can be more productive and not have to go home? I hope he doesn't over work himself to much but there must be a lot of pressure for him at the same time.
