So they're just dolls, kinda like in FFVII and X.
I just want actual Cactuars then, please don't turn them into dolls too. Don't care about Tonberrys at this point xD

Edit : Oh wait in FFVII Mog is also a summon lol

Yeah I don't want the Cactuar to be an item I want to see them in the desert area running everywhere. I want the Tonberries too though in caves with their lanterns.

Final Fantasy XV is in Barcelona (Spain) today and people are able to try out the final build of the game! :D

We can expect some interviews and previews in the coming days. There's already one preview article up and it sounds pretty promising:
http://www.tomsguide.com/us/final-fantasy-xv-rpg,news-23609.html

The part I really liked to hear was:

"I got to play from a combat tutorial all the way through Chapter III of this seemingly massive title. What I played was an ambitious and tremendously entertaining combination of Western world design and Japanese character-building. If you ever wished that Final Fantasy and The Witcher could have a baby, it’d look a lot like FFXV."

Wow hopefully that mean's it will have very good lore and the world will feel deep. They're lucky they're getting to play it, I've only played the platinum demo and I wasn't totally used to the combat in that short amount of time so I'm so excited to get the full finished feel of the game.

Another pretty extensive preview is online:
http://www.redbrick.me/gaming/egx-hands-on-final-fantasy-xv/

Some snippets:

"Final Fantasy is a series that has succeeded in producing a large number of iconic moments in gaming history, and after my hands on with Final Fantasy XV, the series doesn’t seem set to stop anytime soon."

"Although the time I had with game was short it did a lot to make me have faith that the story should be more engaging and exciting than some of the previous installments in the series, which personally I felt were, let’s say lacking in the narrative element."

"Simply put, the combat is the most enjoyable combat I remember playing in a game in a long time, and the new warping mechanic plays a huge role in this."

"All of this is tied into what is truly one of the most visually impressive RPG’s I’ve ever seen. Although I was in the rather unexciting landscape of a desert, the game excels on proving just what a game of this generation is capable of, boasting vast spaces and an environment that feels both immersive and interactive without feeling it needs to cluster every empty space with interactions for the player."

"Final Fantasy is a series that can be hard to just pick up and fully get into without knowing an encyclopedia of information, but that’s where I feel the strength of FFXV really lies, there is truly something here for everyone. There were a lot of big games on display at EGX, but few came even close to promising anything on the same scale as Final Fantasy XV."

"I saw enough in the time I was given and enjoyed the experience so intensely that I will be beyond surprised if the full game turns out to be anything short of amazing."

Sooo...anyone interested in how the retail game build of Final Fantasy XV looks and performs...? :)

Polygon.com released 45 minutes of FFXV's retail game build in HQ. It is the already all too familiar Leide desert region but this is the actual, final game version that we will get to play in less than two months and that Tabata delayed the game for.
Not to already spoil the surprise but Tabata actually didn't lie, the game looks considerably better than just a couple of months ago. It is actually quite amazing what they eventually squeezed out of the consoles.
FFXV now runs at a rock-solid 30fps, is most of the time full 1080p resolution on PS4 (Xbox One is also stable 30fps but runs at a little lower resolution), the lighting has been upgraded again, there's sharper textures and no texture pop in anymore, foliage and LOD (level of detail in the distance) as well as IQ (image quality) have been greatly improved with considerably less jaggy character contours and hair.
Apart from just the graphics the menus and ascension grid are now finalized and there's lots of smaller improvements, like more party chatter and background music.
Long story short, here's the video, there are no spoilers in there:

Is this the first actual graphical upgrade that we witness in this console generation? XD
Over in the graphics thread I am going to make a few direct screen cap comparisons with the current and the Gamescom 2016 game build. :)

Dude those Moogles look like they came out of a horror game...

Nice to see the reception for the demo is positive. I personally wait for Gamefaqs user reviews. Even if they're bad, they tend to be honest if you pick the middle ones.

Anyway, personally, I don't think it's weird to be worried or pessimistic about this game: it had a 10+ years development circle and got around two different directors. And apparently, (not sure if reliable) sources say Nomura's vision was critically different in some parts, and that does make you wonder how much they made it worse or how much they salvaged a horrid thing.
If they put out a decent or nice game out of this, I'll be surprised because development hell is a mean bitch. If they pulled out a masterpiece, my jaw will drop and I will personally give Tabata a prize in ice cram.

Man, I'm more and more hyped about this game every day, but that image almost made me cancel my pre order. :p

How are we on the PS pro @Tyaren? I'm even checking into OLED HDR Tv's.... :) though the budget ain't up to that yet :)

I still don't know. :/ But I am already economizing to be ready to buy one if I need to. XD So far it doesn't look like there will be a considerable Pro upgrade though...they are being very tight-lipped. It could be just the bare minimum of 4K resolution output and HDR. 4k will by the way also work pretty well on your normal 1080p TV. It will automatically supersample the 4K image to 1080p and get rid of most aliasing. Here is an example, focus on the ropes:

It will look similarly smooth as on the right. A supersampled image can potentially also eliminate FFXV's still unsightly hair aliasing. :)

What I came here to post though...

There will be the traditional FF bombs in FFXV too! :D

The bombs are actually from another gameplay video of the most recent game build from Eurogamer.com:

I'm watching it again, the whole 50 minutes. XD Can't get enough of this game and also the Eurogamer guys are funny. Love their banter. Lol @ them staring at Gladio's butt. XD Since I'm 20 minutes in their video rather watch theirs' than the other video that I posted above. They do much more and are much more engaged.

Yeah, not a tremendous difference. If not this time, my ps pro budget becomes my Scorpio budget :p
I don't know anything about those fireballs, but what is really standing out is the interactions and animations of the characters. Wow! That previous video with the gameplay (didn't watch it all, if I'm not playing I can't keep interested...) was really impressive with the buddy guy action while fighting.
