Ultimate

Should Ultimate return? Would you like Ultimate to return. I would love DOA3 Ultimate, hopefully without changing to the new models. Have always wanted to play DOA3 online.

Whats your take on this?

Idk it depends. I kind of like the addition DOA4 made with it's Okizeme play. Doa3 didn't have that so Idk if I could really get into it again.

I would like to see it with upgraded graphics though...that's what drew me to the last ultimate, as well as Dragon Hill. Love that stage so much.

I would enjoy a DOA3 Ultimate, provided there's a shitton of costumes and playable non-boss Genra.

The camera angle was pretty bad, mostly because of that it was close to the ground. If they raised it a bit, I wouldn't have a problem with it; it made the boss fight unique.

DOA3 Ultimate would be an instant buy for me. It's my favorite DOA to this day. But it needs online play and it needs to have online playability on the 360. I don't see it happening at this point though, but it's nice to dream.

I don't really think it matters anymore. I think 5 will be enough and don't really see a reason to bring back 3. During the time DOA2U was around it was ideal, but not much now.

I don't know about that, actually. 3 (3.1 to be precise) is widely considered as the most competitive DOA game and I'm sure a ton of people even outside the DOA hardcores would love to see it again and be able to play online. Look at the original Soul Calibur, we have SCV now yes, but I'm 99% sure if the original Soul Calibur had been given online play when ported to XBL/PSN it would still be played to this day dispite SCV having it's own competitive scene. SC itself was once called the best 3D fighting game of all time.

Doa3 is the best in the series IMO from 7 years back, I always want TN to make Doa3 Ultimate so badly, I didn't really care for Doa2u. Gameplay was abit stale compared to Doa3 IMO but I was seening signs it wasn't going to happen. :(

I am highly aware of DOA3.1 and the praise, but I doubt they'll go out there way to re-release it. But if it's going to be a PSN/XBLA game I can see that. But even so will there be any changes? Would anyone want there to be any changes? I can also seeing them making it if enough people asking for it and if they knew enough people were going to buy it.

There's really no need to touch 3, system wise. They could go the new stage/costume and model route but I don't really see the point. Remaster it in HD, add in all the costumes from 3.1/3.2 and the booster disc, slap in online play with good netcode and I'd be sold. No need to essentially redo the game cosmetically from scratch this time around.

And yes, XBL/PSN would be the way to go. I don't see a re-release on Disc for 360 doing nearly as well.

I'm hoping 5 puts 3 to shame so there's no need to go back to it. U was great for costumes, but I felt like TN was milking the franchise a bit heavily with all the different versions of 2 they made - and always at full price :( <and I always got them day one anyway:confused: >
Discounted, mulit-plat, extra costumes and stages, I might go for it, but I really hope 5 makes me want to never look back.

Hell yeah I agree of what Ooobe said, I want DOA5 to put DOA3 to shame. When my xbox was broke, I bought DOA2 Hardcore and
spend HOURS on it. I got so sick of playing DOA2 and its so overrated IMO. Still a awesome game though. :) Oh yeah when I finally got me a another Xbox, it was a breath of fresh air playing DOA3 again..........but now it stop reading discs. :(

I would give it a go if they would make it 3.1, online and 4 point counter system instead of 3.

I only had 3.0 and never actually played it with anyone. No one I knew played DOA at the time. If they made a XBL/PSN port of 3.1 I'd go ahead and get it I suppose, but hopefully 5 would destroy it and I'd never play it.

3.1 really doesn't need a 4 point hold. As weird as that sounds, its the only DoA game where I feel a 3 point hold is fine. I'd probably still prefer a 4 point hold but its definitely not necessary in 3.1.

I just can't go back to 3 point at all.
