Tekken 7 has like three years left to consider the option of a sequel. I'd imagine Harada won't even consider it for a long while, that stuff takes time along with the risk of development hell which companies try to avoid.

I think it’s way too early to talk about a sequel. Tekken 7 is still doing pretty good. I expect talks about a Tekken 8 when the PS5 is out.

That and fans aren't really pushing for a sequel either, they seem more interested in content and legacy characters so I don't think they need to rush. I mean if KT could milk DOA5 for 5 years with characters and DLC then I think Tekken could do. SFV also has done that where they keep the game updated with new characters and stages and even story content, I think Tekken could go that route since they can always add more story and such in the game they have already

Yeah, I personally don't see a Tekken Sequel for a while. ( unless they suddenly finally reveal TxSF remember that?!? ) When they do though even if it's not for like another 3 years I would like to see that mode return since It really added to my enjoyment of T6. :)

Speaking of T7 though is there going to be an announcement you think? Shouldn't there have been one by now?

There should be one after grand finals if it hasn't already ended yet. Hopefully it'll be more older characters, I personally want someone new like Shin Kamiya or someone I liked like Angel or Wang(I loved his voice and how he said stuff like "YEEUUUUU!" XD)

So going by the split lines in T7's upcoming content. It seems Zafina releases this September.

Winter 2019
- Leroy Smith
- Another character
- Feature

Spring 2020
- Another character
- Stage

Information history bit regarding Wing Chun (which seems to be the fighting style Leroy Smith has), it was a style that was difficult to add into video games due to actual real life history behind it. In the past for it I hear, there was a sort of oath to not spread teachings+information of Wing Chun on media (this includes video games) / exploited to be used for the wrong reasons. Such as street fights, for money, to kill someone etc. Media of any sorts were very careful with this one as they have to be accurate behind it or should only be documented in teachings and nothing else. Obviously this was all in the past so such oaths doesn't even exist anymore, but most martial arts movie and video games usually don't do it out of respect for the teachings.

Bruce Lee as an example also knows Wing Chun, but changed some of it to fit Jeet Kune Do style while trying to avoid on being too similar to Wing Chun roots because of it's history. Harada also made a post about it many years ago:

Japanese only being mentioned was because some of that history also involved relations and the Nanjing Massacre. Not just Japanese, but it was in general. Wing Chun was a very strict one with where they'd teach (in the past). Things like no recording in exhibition nor training, or it was punishment. So if anyone asks why they took so long for Wing Chun to be put in video games, well.....there were many reasons for it.

Normally it'd be like "who cares, just put it in the game". True, but they did took it serious on that one.

That new feature better be a way of swapping Eddy’s model with Christie’s or I’m not interested in this boring ass season!!!

A new original character who's a MALE and not a boring ass Marie Rose clone character. ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ

@Awesmic
I am baffled, confused, excited, and hyped at the same time.

But at least now, I have a personal reason to play and enjoy Tek-- no, Zafina and the game she's in.
