I dont think i remember DOA5 ads being anything like the ivy ads but i still feel SCV was more sexualised than DOA5.

Point is thats how the game was advertised and pretty much everyone that bought SC has seen those ads. Lol i was really trying not to see that Voldo picture but i had a bad feeling id end up seeing it when i posted the Ivy ads. Im pretty sure the Voldo ad was a fake by the way.

Have you been to the grocery store lately? I've seen more scantily-clad women wearing less than bikinis on the magazines in the the check out line, conveniently located next to the candy they try to push to children. You're just living in a different generation I'm afraid. I for one love the detail that TN put into their game. It may be a bit much for some people; however let's remember that this game is rated M, so there is some responsibility on the parents to make sure they know what their kid is playing.

Personally, as someone who's looking to get into this series competitively, toned-downed sex appeal actually caught my attention. I want to play a game that i can take seriously and i want to see characters that looks like they're taking their fighting seriously as well.
Hopefully they put out more dlc than boobs in a different bra.

The hate for fanservice in games is 99% of the time Americans who get worked up over sexuality in games. Meanwhile it's considered perfectly fine for a game to have body parts and blood splattering against walls. This is starting to be become less true though. In the US a lot of games have started including nudity and received no further disapproval outside of having a mature rating. The problem with DoA is that it got the stereotype for fanservice long ago during a time when sex appeal in video games was a public concern (it was already quite common to use scantly clad models in advertisement for video games however). These days I don't think they have any more or less than the other fighting games on the market, just a bigger reputation.

If Team Ninja did include nudity in the series my main concern would be people using nude character models in tournaments. It would get old fast. Plus, no one would ever use the other costumes in online play.
